This is my third and best pair of headphones yet. I also own two Audio Technica's. The AD700 and M50. I use the headphones differently for different applications.

The Ultrasone headphones were definitely worth the extra money. The tonal balance, the tight bass, the neutral but pleasant and rich sonics, beautiful wide and deep soundstage and most of all, the DETAIL retrieval. WOW!!!. I just love these headphones for everything. Well not for everything, they leak sound out and in, so for any alone times they will be the number one choice.

They are comfortable and have very good solid build quality.

I've listened to the supposed best of the best from Sennheiser HD800, Beyerdynamic (dt880,990, Shure P1000 and these headphones from Ultrasone (2nd best in the Ultrasone line I think) put the others to shame. Well not quite to shame, but they are markedly better to my ear. Haven't been to a place that has any of the Grado's to audition, so I can't speak to these. To be fair too, everyone hears sounds differently just like nobody sees exactly the same color. Hope this review help someone on the fence to at least audition these. Oh, and by the way, they are supposed to have a emf canceling technology too (to neutralize harmful effects of, and radiation from elecromagnetic field).

Highly Recommended. Got mine on [...] for [...] shipped brand new from authorized dealer with 30 day money back guarantee.

Though not an end-all audiophile choice, the Ultrasone HFI 2400 has a clear and dimensional sound that has impact even at conservative volumes. It's capable of meaty, earcup-quivering bass response, has well-balanced midrange and its highs glisten without being too strident.

Soundstage is the 2400's signature characteristic. Imaging is indeed in sharp focus throughout a deep field of sound. If an engineer panned a sound at two o'clock, that is precisely where you'll hear it on these phones. I know because I've listened to mixes of my own music on the 2400 and been pleased to hear all the sounds spread out exactly in the positions they were mapped, with depth and clarity.

This is an open-back set of cans, so sound isolation is nearly non-existent and there's lots of leakage. The bass is robust for a headphone of this type, however, and with its non-flamboyant mids and highs and immersive soundstage, I have yet to experience listening fatigue.

I had been using closed-back cans, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50s, which are good but to my ears sound a bit brash and claustrophobic. Open-back cans seemed to be the best alternative and the 2400 fulfilled my expectations. I wanted a fairly complex soundstage, assertive bass, smooth midrange and high end that imparts clarity, and the 2400 has all those traits with my sound systems.

I'm mostly playing CDs and high bitrate mp3 files on a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop computer but also use a vintage integrated Sony amplifier rated at 100 watts per channel hooked up to a rack CD player. I also have a Sony NWZ-E345 mp3 player. None of these sources need a headphone amp to adequately drive the 2400, although the mp3 player sometimes needs to be near or at full volume.

I own 6 different models from the HFI and Pro series along with many other branded headphones
These sit at top of the HFI series and provide a good clear sound reproduction
However I have found them to require amplification and not to have the bass depth and feel of the pro 2500/2900 and even once you have broken them in the pro series models definitely perform better.
For the price I would like else where but if you can get them for under $150 then they are an excellent full size open back experience.
If you like a warm sound look else where but if you like accurate mids and highs and punchy bass they may be for you

I had been using Senn* wireless and just got fed up with all the static. I use them primarily for watching movies late at night when wife has gone to sleep. I got a high quality 30' cable and can now sit back and watch movies with great surround sound and not worry that I will wake her up during the loud scenes. Good, comfortable fit, great sound, light weight, excellent sound separation.

These things are awesome. They arent too heavy, and have very comfortable earpads. They have good midrange, great bass, and ok highs. They high end is very bright tho. I dont think i could listen to these for more than a few hours before fatigue sets in. They have incredible soundstage and instrument separation. They seem very sturdy, and the included cd and cable are awesome. All in all...i'd say they're a great headphone at this price.

These headphones sound amazing and they look really cool I love the silver on black scheme. They are also the most comfortable headphones I've owned, the material they use for the earpads makes them really comfortable to wear.
