5.0 out of 5 stars Techno-Tibetan/some of the best
I have had this CD for over a year and it is one that continually inspires me--whether for writing, folding clothes, or (having given this CD to my spinning class i nstructor and she loves it and uses it often in class) spinning, it is one of the best motivational, inspirational sounds I've encountered in a long tine. Track 3 is dynamite.

If you're looking for he skill and talent of the likes of Jia Peng Fang or Mizuyo Komiya, don't, I repeat-don't look here. I often put on the repeat button and listen to the whole thing several times in one sitting. This is one of Pacific Moon's best releases (and I have quite a few). Take a chance--get this CD. I think you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of Pacific Moon, March 22, 2000

Uttara-kuru is fantastic! The album blends traditional japanese music with cool modern ambient rythms. "West Wind" album is also great.

This is one of the Best CD's I have ever listened to. Very soothing, and also very upbeat. Perfect blend.

I think this is a brilliant CD, full of depth, it can take you on a magnificent journey. It is great background music but to get the most out of it, best to listen when you are able to fully focus on the music, such as when flying on a plane.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album rocks!, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Uttara-Kuru: Prayer (Audio CD)
This album like totally rocks, man! I listen to it when I'm angry. I draw to the music and the music heals my soul. It's a good mix of Japanese Buddhist chants combined with techno and a little rap. Dude, it like, totally rocks!

I listen to this CD at least weekly, especially when I've had a rough day and want something to relax to. The combination of chanting and ambient beats is amazing.

While having some interesting elements, East Wind and Prayer are the only Asian albums I have purchased that have woefully dissapointed me. I love eclectic blends of Asian music combined with true talent. Neither East Wind nor Prayer appeal to me as anything close to enjoyable and aren't even in the same category as Jia Peng Fang or Mizuyo Komiya. Save your $$ unless you enjoy Hip/Hop/Fusion/Asian/Ornamental blends not altogether well executed.
I found this album only somewhat more interesting than "East Wind," but still altogether unappealing.
