Simply some great punkmusic!,

Exactly one of the best bands of Germanpunk music in a very long time and have very strong chords and harmonics. These lyrics are very good--if only everybody speaks German, they would love it too!

REQUIRED FOR LISTENING: A sense of humor,
By Rachel Peters (Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews

In all honesty, I can see how WIZO's lyrics could be misunderstood. But what everyone needs to know before listening is that these three guys like to make their political statements in a humorous and sometimes satirical way. They don't mean any harm, and if you can't take their odd sense of humor, simply do not listen to their music.
That said, WIZO is (was) indeed one of the best punk bands out there, in Germany or elsewhere. Most of the music is fast and fun and it all comes from a few guys who really know how to play. Paired with an excellent sense of humor and a sharp tounge throughout, you really can't go wrong with these guys. They've got at least one song for everyone. Uuaarrgh! is my favorite album of theirs, and I am listening to it constantly. I really would recommend the German release over the American, as it has 23 tracks while this one has just 17. The real character of the album is reduced when you change any part of it. I got my copy at www.punk.de, and I love it. Sure, the lyrics aren't translated into English, but there's fun to be had in doing it yourself. And if you don't know any German, the translations are easy to find online.

What!?!,

The reviewer after me said that the song "how could I have known" was about rape? It has nothing to do with anything like that. And that comment about the horns wasn't that smart either. I guess that's what you get from a guy who can't spell instruments correctly. Don't dis WIZO. They rock.

the best album of a great band. i can remember the first time i heard "raum der zeit" (space of time) with its great lyrics against the conserative way of live - fantastic.
unfortunately they decided to quit the band, they just released a new album "anderster" (differenterer), meaning they finally wanted to present their fans a complete different album but it became complete differenterer. If you have the chance visit them on their final tour !

I downloaded one song by WIZO at the recommendation of a friend in my German class. Over the next three weeks, I downloaded the majority of WIZO's total artistic output, including the entire contents of this entire CD. I loved it so much that once I got the money, I went out and bought a copy, even though I already had all the songs on it in MP3 format. I have purchased this CD several times as gifts to people who enjoy punk rock. I also recommend finding music in German if you want to learn the language; it improves your pronunciation, vocab, and grammar; this is a good CD for all of this.
What you get in buying the CD and not just getting the MP3's is--besides improved sound quality--is the liner notes. The little booklet has German lyrics and English translations of all of the songs on the CD. You can read them online (just google for "Wizo translations"), although you should buy the CD and support the artist.

hello from germany i bought this cd 'cause i lost mine. but this cd is different to the german. i miss sum great songs that are normaly on this album. especially i miss the intro in which you get to know why this cd is called uuuuaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh ! when u like this cd buy the others and when ur not rid of it after the listen to *kraut und rüben* which is listed at amazon.com u have to go to amzon.de and buy the german version of *uargh* and their other album *bleib tapfer* which is great too. the band with their lyrics and the sound is great. they say what they think and im very surprised that the police havn't caught them and put them in jail. listen to *kopfschuss*. they wrote the song because the police, the state said it was an accident or a sucide. but the guy havn't been able to shoot himself in the head an then throw the gun 20 meters away. it has been a policeofficer the thing happened in *bad klein, germany* years ago. the song the golden piece of shit. don't have to say anything listen to it and make your own decision. c ya with the hope that they make a new album their latest was '95 made i think tschüß jonas

Wizo is terrific. The lyrics are translated in the cd cover so you can read them in english too! Hillarious. They really grow on you. Some of the songs more than others. A combo of german punk, with some cheezy 80's tunes. If you speak germam, they're great to sing along to. Highly recommended!
