I am a full time Knife maker and sharpener,
Sometimes I have to get my face way too close to a fast moving "up to 2800 ft per min" Grinding/ sanding belt. The amount of steel debris & wood dust flying at your face can be pulverizing while roughing in a blade out of a Piece of Stainless steel or even when shaping a wooden/Micarta knife handle. This face shield is the first of several I have purchased over the years that is comfortable with glasses and a Nose/Mouth respirator strapped present. The anti fog coating does bring down the light level some, I guess that's to be expected? The glare is also greatly reduced and that is very welcome, Wearing prescription glasses with most face shields gives me so many glare spots that it becomes a hazard. The anti fog really does work and I have brought in more lighting to compensate and am now able to have a very reasonable feeling of comfort and safety during these intense grinding periods. The head harness adjusts very easily to my extra large fat head and I can even fit a ball cap on, Bill to the rear with a bandanna under the cap to give added coverage for the back of my neck against all the air borne dust, Dirt and projectiles. This product is well worth the money and it was at my door in less than 36 hours with their standard shipping! I gladly give her a ***** Star rating.

This faceshield is very comfortable to wear. I use it while woodturning and I recommend it.
You should use a faceshield when using your table saw too! I didn't and a piece of wood caught on the backside of the blade and was propelled into my face. I wear my full face shield now!

I have just taken down a very negative review and am replacing it with this one. The reason is that I made a doofus mistake, but I have to wonder if I am the only one. The mistake is ...... groan ....... that I failed to notice that the faceshield comes with a peel off protective plastic sheet ..... on both sides of the shield. Since the shield was already installed on the mask I just assumed that it came that way, and the shield was therefore almost unuseable because it was barely translucent. If there was a warning notice, I didn't recognize it. My suggestion for Uvex is that they place a prominent red sticker on the shield that points out to those of us who are, well, dumb ....... that the protective film does need removing. I am really hoping that this review helps someone .... else.

This is one of the best face shields on the market. I have tried cheaper and they just don't do nearly as well.
The ratcheting adjustment means it won't come loose like "pinlock" style adjustments. The headgear is well padded (but I still advise a bandanna to stop the sweat from dripping into your eyes). The shield will also lock in the up position if you need to raises it to take a short break or whatever. The headgear is very adjustable, too, to suit your preferences. The shield itself is high quality and removable for through cleaning or replacement. I like the hardcoat/antifog version of the shield. This is a must have item for weedeating, grinding, or any activity that kicks up a lot of debris that gets past regular safety glasses. I wear this face shield with a pair of Revision Sawfly safety glasses for maximum protection.

I work a little with Liquid Nitrogen. This prevents inadvertent splashes on my face. The shield doesn't fog up. I didn't think I would need the rotation capability of the helmet (it flips up like a welding shield), but it has come in handy. Looks cool too.

I do a lot of wood working and I am so tired of being pinged in the face by wood chips when I am cutting a sheet of particle board, sub floor or plywood. I wear safety glasses to keep stuff out of my eyes but that does not stop the little pieces from hitting your face and neck. THIS will do the trick! Fantastic face shield. Comfortable, light weight, and does not fog up. Visability is great. I figure as long as I don't scratch it it will work great, replacement shields aren't too expensive which is nice because I know it will get scratched thru use.

One of the problems with this much protection is it recirculate air back to you so you get some of your own warm breath;I find it fine for what I use it for, short period of time typically 3 min. or less.
