The tooling is fine, the pen writes smoothly.

It's actually very handy and ergonomic as the cap protrudes from the pocket when clipped, and with a quick twist, you can have a cuff key in hand.

The pen tip doesn't retract, instead you have to partially unscrew the barrel of the pen partway until the pen tip is covered.

I literally have a box of these types of innocent and useful pens, styluses, lock needles, tent pegs, rulers, solid body flashlights, padlocks, carabiners, tools less than 5" in length, and flat cards that are (currently still) approved for airline travel.

I am not some scofflaw or troublemaker, but in fact the exact opposite. I am as Jay Mohr so aptly stated an "air marshal". I have no special authority, no badge, no sidearm. But what I do have is my trusty solid metal pen (and some Kevlar aramid gauntlets) and the willingness to assist the air crew in the event of an emergency. All 200 passengers should be "air marshals" in this day and age. I am also not and have no particular desire to be a hero or patriot. I merely want to be a humble traveler and survivor who would dearly love to have my plane land safely.

This pen is, exactly as stated, a solid all metal body writing instrument. It is nicely, circumferentially knurled to provide a positive grip along it's long access. At either end, it has a nice point. Although I have not tested it yet, it purports to have a "glass breaker" tip on the butt end, possibly tungsten-carbide. The metal is richly anodized matte black, and the pocket clip is also very solidly built (10 gauge at least) and firmly attached (as it screws into the cap).

As advertised, there is a removable standard hand cuff key that screws into the cap assembly. It's actually very handy and ergonomic as the cap protrudes from the pocket when clipped, and with a quick twist, you can have a cuff key in hand. This is no cheapie key either. It too is anodized and can be unscrewed from the cap to access the double lock pin.

This pen is rugged and well built and would deserve 5 stars except for a flaw in the design. The pen tip doesn't retract, instead you have to partially unscrew the barrel of the pen partway until the pen tip is covered. In practice, however, very often the barrel will completely unscrew in my pocket leading to an inky mess and missing spring. There is a rubber "o" ring that's supposed to keep the barrel from unscrewing on its own, but it isn't sufficient. Perhaps a bigger one could be located at a hardware store that would solve the problem. As it is, great pen but epic fail on function. Would not recommend.

Its a little heavy to write with but only a touch and its also a little hard on the hand to write with for an extended period. Other than that it appears to be a quality product.

It writes nicely... The clip on parts a little huge but doesn't hinder my writing... I am far from the expert on tactical pens but It works!

It's a cool pen that feels great in your hands. I use it at a car dealership to do all my pen work. The factory ink cartridge is shoddy and gives out when writing. The glass breaker works really well, and I haven't had a chance to try the handcuff key. The black coating will wear off in your pocket if you have things for it to rub up against, and vise versa this pen will scratch the hell out of a phone or anything else really. The clip is very sturdy and secure. It does ride high in your pocket with the glass breaking tip sticking out quite a bit. Over it's cool and once you change out the ink cartridge it's a wonderful pen.

YES IT DOES TAKE FISHER SPACE PEN REFILLS, however, the tip of the ball barely sticks out. It still works great unless you wrtie at a ridiculous angle.

Decent pen, but I have 2 problems with it. 1. The pen clip is resting on the rough abrasive part of the pen which mean when you attach the pen to a shirt or pants pocket after a while it will wear down or even rip your fabric/clothing wherever you store it on you. The clip is extremely tight as well. 2. The cuff key inside the back end of the pen becomes loose and rattles with any type of movement, I have to unscrew the back end of the pen a couple times a day just to tighten/re-screw the cuff key back into the pen tip, annoying.

I keep this pen in the car. It does write, though you have to twist it a bit to extend/retract the pen part. I am not fond of having to leave it slightly twisted to keep the pen retracted, but it does write well.

Of course, this is one serious pen. The glass breaker on the key part may come in handy some day. I live in Florida, and lots of people seem to put their cars in canals. Also, the glass breaker, being so pointed, could also be a good stabbing/jabbing defense tool if needed in a pinch (like a roadside altercation). Thus, this is a good choice for a pen in the car.

Lastly, I just like the way this thing looks. Most pens are not that exciting, they just serve a purpose. This one does both.

If you like tac pens, this one is a great choice. Feels good in the hand. Sturdy. Fits the Fisher space pen with the spacer, which I ordered separately. If you prefer to use the thumb to stabilize, you can unscrew the top and rest your thumb there (but consider the Uzi Pen #2 which is made for that use). Me, I practice with the point at my thumb joint and so far no significant distracting pain. I like having the glass breaker. I really like this pen as another SD tool in addition to my CC gun. Seems to be TSA-friendly. I hope I never need to use it except for writing, but it is a sturdy pen should I ever need alternative uses for a pen.
