Young humor at a French naturist centre,
By
This review is from: La Vérité toute nue (Paperback)
The French in this short novel is fairly basic, so fluency is not required. The story is about a 13-year-old girl who ends up on a vacation with her twin brother, his friend, and the friend's family. The story hinges on the brother's never getting around to telling his sister that they're going to a naturist resort on the French coast. Once there, the teenage angst moves from goofiness to hilarity, as they each decide if they are ready to relax with the family and have fun amidst hundreds of naked people. The story is not at all about sex, and is not in the least bit erotic. It is rather an amusing look into the fears and concerns of adolescents as they face their own bodies and those of others. This is neither philosophy nor naturist propoganda; it's just a fun read.
