4.0 out of 5 stars V6 Performance Review, November 29, 2000
By
This review is from: V-6 Performance (Paperback)
This has been a great assett to me while I was building my Chevorlet 2.8L V6. The manual was very easy to read with very simple and easy to follow calculations, and offered to me a vast knowledge of information regarding performance modifications to the engine. This includes camshaft, intake, carbueration, exhaust, transmission, and machining selections. V6 performance covers Chevorlet, Ford, and Buick applications, both 60 degree and 90 degree versions of all motors. A must for those that wish to have light-wieght power house while also having very good streetability and fuel conservation. Supercharging and turbo charging modifications and applications are discussed throughly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Of course it's out of date, but seems useful!, February 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: V-6 Performance (Paperback)
Yeah, of course it's out of date. It's not like it was published this year (2002). For anyone who knows about books, the will also know that once a book is published it is thereafter "out of date".

A revision would be nice, but I found the book extremely helpful. I got everything out of it that I wanted. Of course, I wasn't looking for aftermarket parts or I would have found a catalog (whether it be online or not). It told me a lot about the engines I wanted to know about (especially the chevy 2.8!).

For those who lack reading skills, I can see how it would be a troublesome book though. Overall, this book was good. Just make sure to read it knowing what time the book was made (I do believe the 1980s). So, if you have a car from the 80s with a v6, I would recommend this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Oldie but goodie!, November 18, 2005
This review is from: V-6 Performance (Paperback)
This is an old book as stated below, but I originally bought it in the 1980's for help on my Buick even-fire 3.2 V-6. It proved very helpful there, and the section on Ford's 60 degree V-6 is the largest in the book. The Chevy section is very sparse, so look elsewhere if you need help on one of those engines. GM used to put out a Power Manual on Chevys that was available at any dealership's part's department that had a great deal of info on the Chevy V-6's. You might check and see if they still carry this if you need more information on the Chevy V-6's. It should prove very up to date if they do.
