4.0 out of 5 stars I love it.
I didn't have time to learn html and didn't want to. Bought Webeditor which is an absolute joke. Then bought Webeasy 5.0. No, it's not perfect but it gets the job done for what I need and was VERY easy to figure out. Check out my website that I built with it at: www.naturesfinestimages.com

3.0 out of 5 stars easy but limited
I found that webeasy makes pages via extensions and you do not have access to the html. This makes it difficult to add things that webeasy does not provide. It is encouraged to use their own webhost (at $10 a month) i have not tried out any other webhost to see if the extensions are compatible.I did find that what you create does not always come out the way you wanted...

I have found many flaws along the way. Also the pages look terrible on webtv or AOL. I plan to keep looking for a better web authoring system.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst than a free website builder, March 16, 2005

I bought this program in hopes of building an online presense with ecommerce capabilities. I was frustrated with the inflexibility of the program. It does not easily navigate to the functions that you need. The user manual is very little help, and although writen short and to the point, it does not give detailed descriptions. I had to fool around with the site for several hours to begin to understand the inner workings of it. Once it was learned on my own, I was able to use it, but was not exactly user friendly. It comes with enormous amounts of templates, backgrounds and clip art, only to take up so much room on your computer, and the templates were honestly very ugly and unusable for an impressionable website. The only benefit I gained, was that saw how the drag and drop programs work and the neat way it handled the paypal functions. Out of the thousands of things availabe on the program, I could only find two things I liked and that is sad.

I highly recommend to either ask others for recommendations, or use a free website builder program. Also, I think from now on, I may opt to choose a trial period with software before a purchase. I could not get my money back after I found out how horrible of a program it was-which was totally understandable considering most software is not refundable. I navigated the companies website for trial download and they don't offer them. It is no wonder. They perhaps know how horrible this program is, and know they will make the money by not offering the trial. Please reconsider other website building software with better performance and better templates and options that you will be proud of when you finish making your website.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just as bad as Web Easy 6.0, possibly worse..., March 14, 2006
This review is from: WebEasy Professional 5.0 (CD-ROM)
I tried both of these programs to no avail, even after reading extensively their online "detailed" instructions. Both of these programs are a virtual nightmare and the interface is so badly designed, even an experienced webmaster would have much difficulty figuring it all out. There are almost NO instructions while working with it, and the horribly annoying little pop ups that appear when you're trying to figure out HOW to do a simple task also tell you NOTHING about HOW to do the task. I have never seen a program so erractic and confusing like this before! Absolutely the worst designed program, don't waste your time or money unless you want to rip your hair out trying to decipher it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for a beginner, August 29, 2006
This review is from: WebEasy Professional 5.0 (CD-ROM)
When I first started writing, I wanted to create a website. Now many people said I should go with a professional but I just wanted to do it myself. After comparing price and what it could do(at the time I didn't know what I wanted) I bought it.

Now keep in mind that I had absolutely no experience in working with webpages and no programming background at all except a small amount of basic on my old commodore 64.

I had pages up and running in a few hours. But there were a few things that annoyed me.

First of all, every page had to be the same size. Don't know if that's the way it is with all programs, but it's just annoying.

Secondly, I wanted to add programs for download but am unable to.

Also, everytime I changed the graphics even small, then the page is all screwed up on Aol. Don't know why, but after awhile it straightens itself out. Received limited help from Aol about it.

All in all, I do like it but if you want more versatility, look for another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a strong product - confused by all the bad reviews, September 15, 2005
This review is from: WebEasy Professional 5.0 (CD-ROM)
I love this product. It is a very powerful tool and is so much better than fumbling around with DreamWeaver. While I'm not a mind reader, I feel that some of the bad reviews are from folks that thought it would be super EASY as in you snap you fingers and your website magically appears. You do have to read the manual and the instructions, but with taking a little time to learn you have a lot of functions at your disposal that are very easy to use. I have to admit that I haven't tried to access the HTML code yet, but my understanding is that you can't do this which I could see becoming frustrating. If they added that feature into the next version this product would be perfect. Nevertheless, I gave it 5 stars because as of yet there hasn't been anything that I've wanted to do that I couldn't do yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, February 5, 2007

These people should not be allowed to advertise their product using the word "easy". Yes, their web site design is fairly easy once you catch on to it, but don't expect the manual to be of much help. It assumes you are an expert to begin with and doesn't define terms very well, so plan on doing a lot of guessing and experimenting. The really hard part is getting your site published. After several unsuccessful tries (WebEasy congratulates me and says my site has been published successfully, but when I go to look at it, it says the site has not been uploaded properly) and after an e-mail from their "help desk" that started out by saying "What you should try is...", I gave up. I needed help from them. I can try things myself. I don't need their experts guessing at what might work.

I finally decided the frustration wasn't worth it and got another program. In good conscience, I could never recommend WebEasy to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly terrible and deceptive software, June 7, 2008
By
This review is from: WebEasy Professional 5.0 (CD-ROM)
I am a professional software and web developer with more than 15 years working in the field. I recently helped a friend with a site built with Web Easy Professional 5.0, which is a WYSIWYG HTML-generating software that saves your site in a proprietary data file. I was truly horrified by the quality of the HTML and other code generated by this software; its broken code does not validate and is not browser compatible. [For the web savvy: it places every element in an absolutely positioned div with invalid inline CSS values.] The user interface is one of the worse I've ever seen. For example, the link colors can only be set when you "build" your site in the Build dialog box. What the?? There is an "Advanced" button in that dialog box that hides the option of setting the Author, Keywords and "Internet Search Engine Description" from the user. And they have these fields populated with VCOM marketing keywords!!! What user that responds to software with "Easy" in the title is going to click on a button labeled "Advanced"? Every site built with this terrible program is helping VCOM gain better search engine rankings while its own search ranking suffers. My poor friend had been abused and lied to by VCOM tech support on many occasions. They do everything to lock you into their system, which uses strange terminology which literally mis-educates you about many things. From even a cursory look, I found blatantly incorrect claims in the software's text and help. And yes, the software "recommends" all users "publish" using their iEasySite hosting service (that's where they really make their money, of course). I found the username and FTP information wass essentially hidden from the user. I suspect this company could be fairly sued; they clearly designed their system to exploit technically unaware people. I sincerely hope you have not been conned by the manipulative company who produces this excuse for software. I can't go on, but it's really that bad...

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Effective, August 18, 2006
This review is from: WebEasy Professional 5.0 (CD-ROM)
This is a simple and effective program for a first-timer (and I am definitely one of those) to use to create a website. Once you have your pages made, you can 'build' your site and then use any text editor to edit the pages as needs be. [...].
