Almost perfect,
By
This review is from: V-Moda Vibe Duo Earbuds (iPhone Compatible) (Electronics)
I too was disappointed to learn the mic/button did not have the navigation function, and was even more disappointed to learn that a new model is coming out shortly that DOES have this function. Wait for the next model if this is important to you. Now on to the good stuff. The sound quality is remarkable: crisp and clear with excellent bass. Be sure to try the different inserts to find the right ones for you. At first I was disappointed with the lack of bass until I fitted the larger size inserts. Bingo: the bass is excellent. In addition the microphone is far better than the one that comes with the Apple version. And like the other reviewer I have to say these are the most comfortable headsets/headphones I've ever worn. Even without the navigation function I am very pleased with these earbuds.

Great until they break, twice !,

OK so after months of contemplating whether or not to spend $100 on these headphones I finally caved in after the pain the stock apple headphones gave me. For the first two months they were perfect, the sound was great and after a while I got used to finding the clicker button to fast forward tracks/pause music/answer calls. Then it happened, the right side stopped working and I would have to bend the cord in strange ways to get sound. Suddenly the left side wouldn't work either. I returned them under warranty and had a new pair delivered after about 3 weeks. The second pair also lasted about 2 months until the same problems arose. Since they will not refund I'll just have to keep returning them until my warranty is up. DO NOT BUY THESE ! All the reviews are probably excellent because they are written prior to them breaking. Had I written a review 2 weeks after my purchase I would of given them a 5 star rating.

Good headphones but microphone is questionable,
By
This review is from: V-Moda Vibe Duo Earbuds (iPhone Compatible) (Electronics)
The sound quality from the headphones is good - better than the standard Apple headphones that come with the iPhone imho. But the first 2 phone calls I made the person I was calling said I sounded terrible. When I unplugged and used the iPhone mic the sound quality improved considerably according to the person I was calling (different person for each call). Like the other reviewers I feel that the ommission of the play/pause + answer/hang up button seems like a stupid oversight. In summary... V-Moda if you're listening... (1) improve the mic quality and (2) add the mic button. Then you've got a winner!

A LEMON! INFERIOR QUALITY! Almost guaranteed to fail within months, if not weeks!,

I've tried two pairs of these in the past eight months and BOTH have had failed (right) drivers. To make matters worse, you will NOT be refunded, as the warranty implies. They'll be happy to repair or replace them with an equally inferior item. While the sound is decent, unless you expect to drop another $100 every couple of months, steer clear of these pieces of crap. Like many who've experienced the same mistreatment, I too am mystified at how V-moda stays afloat, unless it's subsidize somehow through other equally dubious dealings. My advice: DON'T BUY V-MODA [...]. THE VIBE DUO IS COMPLETE AND UTTER GARBAGE.

Third Times a Charm,
By Neena Dee "Neena" (San Diego Ca, USA) - See all my reviews

Yes, Three times a charm...if you have patience. Couple of snags. First purchase: the ear phones lost its stereo ability and I was only able to hear on the left side. Bummer deal but was able to return product. Second purchase: the plastic covering (over the jack) that goes into the iPhone became loose and it was rather difficult to remove the headphones out of the player without pulling the plastic covering off first. Second bummer..again, I was able to return to store. Third purchase: No problems. Happy with product. The nylon cord is very nice. Overall, I like this headphone because it is compatible with the iPhone, iPod, CD players, etc. The microphone feature (this allows you to speak on the iPhone and drive legally) makes this item stand out compared to the typical headset and headphones. The sound quality is excellent with its enhanced bass and clear treble sounds. This means that music of all sorts of genres from rock to classical resonates beautifully and audiobooks are a joy to listen to through these ear buds. One warning, don't fall asleep with them in your ears because they are rather hard and can make your ears a bit sore. I haven't experienced any problems so far and I have had this for over two months. I give it four stars instead of five and the reason being is because for a $100.00, I should have not gone through this ordeal; however, I believe sometimes even great products can have its production defects. I gave it three chances and am now reaping the benefits of owning a superior product.THREE MONTHS LATER: Okay...ladies and gentlemen...here's the followup to my last positive review above. After three months of daily use with these, the headphones began to fail on me. the stereo quality once again became mono and I'd have to jiggle the jack to make it work correctly. I see a tiny bit of copper wires poking through the nylon near the base of the jack which I have covered with electric tape. After a fair trial and objectiveness, I can give you an honest assessment, I am DISGUSTED with this product and warn anybody to not make the same mistake as I did. Advice, buy the $50,00 apple headphones with the soft ear buds. They are the best for what you pay for. I have had them for over a year with daily use and no problems. I only got the V-MODA DUO because it was compatible with the iphone. Amazon was great for they gave me a 100% refund. I give the product .5 stars but can't change the initial rating. You've been warned.

Very satisfied with sound quality and comfort. Not satisfied with product durability. Right earphone and mic failed after 4 months of use. Waiting to see if V-Moda will honor the one year warranty.

Love them - most comfortable I've ever worn (Updated),

I can't use the Apple earphones because they literally bruise my earlobes. I got this for my iPhone and just love them - in fact, they are the most comfortable earphones I have ever used with any iPod, let alone the iPhone. They do not have a call receive/hangup function like the apple version, but I never use that anyway. It does have a small microphone on the right earphone cord to use if you want to. Personally, I can't stand having anything in my ears while talking, so I will just answer the phone regularly and plug the earphones back in when I am resuming listening to music. I would personally rate them a 5 for spectacular sound and amazing comfort -- but I will give it 4 stars because I know many iPhone users are going to want the click-to-answer feature on the microphone button.UPDATED OCTOBER 2, 2007 -- V-moda has updated the Duo's to now include a remote control on the microphone, exactly like the original iPhone control. I now rate these headphones 5 STARS although amazon wont let me update that, apparently. These headphones are now THE best substitute option rather than the Apple earbuds. Be careful to purchase the most current version, not the older version -- if in doubt, contact v-moda.com rather than ordering online.

Not worth the money, not a well-developed product,

You've heard the upsides. Here are the downsides:1)There is waaaayyyy too much bass. The sound is unbalanced. I've heard it referred to as a "unique way of presenting the music" but I think the music sounds plain wrong on these. It's a loss in fidelity, and it can be fatiguing 2)The rubber earbud nozzles will easily fall off, so unless you take these things around in the nerdy carrying pouch, you'll lose them constantly. Pass on these!

So close to perfection,
By
This review is from: V-Moda Vibe Duo Earbuds (iPhone Compatible) (Electronics)
These headphones are very, very good when paired with the iPhone, but they lack one major feature which is sorely missed. The microphone case does not have the click control that the headphones that come with the iPhone have, and therefore, you cannot pause or skip songs, or answer or hangup on callers without removing the iPhone from your pocket. If the mic had the clicker, it'd be perfect. The sound reproduction is good enough for me, but I'm not an audiophile and therefore not that demanding. The in-ear is great for me because it helps to block out the sounds of traffic/subway, but not so much that it's dangerous. The included gels come in three sizes and two colors of each (white & black), and are pretty comfortable. I would prefer a little larger middle size, or a smaller biggest size, but the middle size work just fine for me. As with all in-ear headphones, you have to make sure that they are deep enough, otherwise you get reduced base. All-in-all a very good replacement headphones for the iPhone. If V-Moda comes out with them with the clicker, I will upgrade without hesitation.

Awesome Headphones,

I have the Shure e3c's and I thought those were nice headphones until I bought the V-Moda duos for my iPhone. The cord doesn't tangle easily, the headphones sound better than the Shures, and the mic has worked out well for me. I honestly don't care if this set has the answer button or not. Don't waste your money on more expensive heaphones - the bass, mids, and highs sound fantastic. The buds are small and the cord never gets in the way.
