The Search is Over, June 3, 2001
This review is from: E.V.O.: The Search for Eden (Video Game)
When I first played this game about 6-7 years ago I was totally blown away by the concept of a game based around evolution. I was like "Whoa this is totally rad man(hey what do ya want man i was only about 13-14 then)." This game is very hard to figure out but that is also what makes it so interesting. as you play you earn evolution points which you trade in to evolve your body giving you more biting power or more speed or higher jumping or even the ability to fly. Ultimatly you can even discover the ultimate evolution in the game...humanity. The goal is to make it through the five chapters each representing the world at a different point in its evolution everything from when it was nothing but water(ch.1) to the ice age (i think thats ch.4). Anyway i played it for about a week and it just flew by then i couldnt find it until last year. i was so happy i could and almost did cry i loved this game so much. if you ever find a copy of this game i highly recommend picking it up before someone else does. there are endless possibilities in the evolotionary process your imagination is your limit...and even that won't stop you.

Hard to find, but it's a gem!, July 26, 2001
This review is from: E.V.O.: The Search for Eden (Video Game)
Sadly, I searched for this game without luck for years (I had read a review in Nintendo Power).. and then my friend and I found it on Amazon.com, and she bought it for me for Christmas. (I owe you, Zillu ._.)
Anyway, the game focuses around evolution (cough cough) (Pokémon fans, take a look at this) (cough cough). You start out as a fish in the age of fishes, and then move on to the age of amphibians. After this comes the age of reptiles, and here's where the fun really begins. At this point, you can have four legs, 2 legs, or even become a bird. After this, you may be a bird, dinosaur, or mammal.. and later on, you may even evolve into a human.
It's an interesting and original game that lets you make a lot of choices. My only complaints are that
1. It plays out similarly no matter what you are
2. It's too short! ;_;
Anyway, if you're looking for something new, check it out. It's great fun. ^_^

i used to rent this game as a kid - would play it all weekend. there is a lot to do in this game, but i just wanted to say how much fun it is! they did not make many copies of this game (which is why its so rare and expensive), but to the publisher's surprise - the game was a hit!
