I bought this toy for my friends daughters first birthday and it was at our house for about a week before we gave it to her. In that time my 3 month old daughter fell in love with it as well.

This is a great piano with a lot of different things to explore and play with. There are 5 keys which have a different color, animal and musical instrument represented by each key. It has a drum and sound effects joy stick as well as a karaoke microphone! There is a little dog that moves back in forth to time with the music who is "the leader" of the band.

There are different modes of play with this piano as well. When one mode is chosen you play the keys as its a piano. Another mode allows the name of the color of the key to be said as well as the animal and the type of sound the animal makes. Then another mode plays the style of music represented by the instrument on the key. You have classical, jazz, country and an island type jamaican tune with a few others. The drum counts each pat you make or just acts as a drum. And the sound effects joy stick and karaoke microphone are just too much fun!

My friend said her daughter loves to play with the microphone to sing.

There are lots of lights on here to interest a younger baby. My daughter just loved to listen to the music and watch the lights. I think they should change the reccomended age on this toy to a younger age. Even if your baby cant sit up on her own you can hold this toy with her on your lap and they will like to explore it and look at it. As they get older they will get more interactive.

A fabulous toy at a great price. And the music sounds good too which is a plus!

This is the only electronic toy you need! My 10 month old just got this and she plays w/ it for at least 30 min at a time, a couple times a day. The 3 modes, five piano type keys, 4 directional joy-stick, drum, microphone, guitar playing dog, and 15 LED lights provide a smorgasbord of musical and educational fun.

Counting/Colors/Animals Mode: tap the drum and hear the beats being counted. Press the keys for the color and/or animal name featured on the key and a short tune in the instrument featured on the key.

Listen Mode: each key starts a new classic or nursery song; add animal noises by pressing the keys, drum beats by tapping the drum, puppy noise by pressing pumpy's head, and 4 other funny noises by moving the joy-stick. Swirl the joy-stick to speed up the music and hold it down to slow the music. Sing along using the real microphone.

Play Mode: make your own music using the keys, drum, and joy-stick.

Practicallity: uses easy to find, always on hand AA batteries. Features auto shut-off after inactivity to preserve battery life, but can be switched off to prevent accidental activation, etc. 2 volumes (I think the lowest is loud enough, and could be just a bit quieter, but still, I haven't gotten annoyed yet because of all the variety.)

Bottom Line: This is the most action-packed electronic toy out there and at a very good price too. It is the only one of its kind that you will need, and you do need it.

I purchased this toy for daughter in the exchange of one gift toy. My daughter couldn't stop playing it in the store. So I had to buy it. She enjoys it everyday. She dances on the music. If the music stops, she plays one more key and again the new music starts. Drum is a very good idea. She plays that too. I'm sue she will start counting with that soon. I would recommend this toy to anyone who loves music. This is 100% worth the money. And better than other so called piano's that kids just hit for some time and then get bored because it doesn't play any music by itself.

First I bought this great gift for my little girl, she is so into all the sounds that this can make. My wife has been trying to pluck out songs like, Mary had a little lamb, and Twinkle twinkle little star, to show her. She's been singing them as she plays.

As a result I bought her a singing lesson CD kind of as a joke "Voice Lessons TO GO" by Vaccarino. She actually has taken it seriously and is now belting out. My daughter is playing along (very proudly and badly) as they sing together. It is hilarious to watch and listen to! I have a feeling I have many years of music lessons to pay for ahead of me, for both of them.

I purchased this item for my baby's 1st birthday, and also for my god child's 1st birthday. They both love the sounds, lights and movement of the dog. My daughter loves that she can hear her own voice on the microphone. My 12 year old son even enjoys playing with it, with or with out his sister. I am going to by this toy again in January for my husbands god child.

My daughter, who is 22 months, still loves this toy that we got for her 1st birthday. It drives me nuts though. She pulled on the microphone some and after a while it got so staticky that you could barely hear the music! I exchanged it for another (would have returned it, but didn't keep the receipt) but the same thing happened with the second one. She doesn't even pull the microphone anymore, but it's still a static nightmare. I can hear her bringing it down the hall - crackle, crackle, craaaaackle, craaaaaack! This would be a great toy without the mic. Would not buy this again.

My daughter got this present for her one year birthday. She loved it!!!!! But one week later, my 3 year old nephew came over and somehow ruined the microphone. Since my nephew is 3 and does not have a slobber problem from teething or anything, the micorphone should have been able to handle it. Since it can't even handle a 3 year old, I wonder how long it could survive a one year old who was still teething. And since the microphone is ruined now, everytime the piano is turned on, there is very loud and annoying static. She can't play with it anymore.

My 14 month old got this for his 1st birthday and it definitely keeps his interest. There are different settings to allow him to play the piano, make animal sounds, or just beat the "drum." There is a low volume setting which is GREAT. The only thing that is annoying is that it keeps talking to entice your child to it for about 10 minutes after he stops playing with it.

My daughter got it as a gift for her 1st birthday and she instanly fell in love with it.
She likes the songs best, as soon as she hits one of the keys, she starts dancing. The music is fun and we both like the animal sounds as well. She learns the colors as you ask to hit the keys or the animals at the same time.Whenever it's on, there is dancing and laughing in the house.
It's a terrific gift !

This toy is so much fun! It encourages your child to talk by using the microphone. However I have experienced problems with the microphone. I had to exchange the toy after a month because the microphone went out. It was fun while it lasted.
