Smartville playsets are clever electronic toys that, on their surface, don't look like electronic toys. They're colorful plastic with cute characters that engage a toddler's imagination and tickles their fancy. Switch it on, and the playset comes alive with light-up buttons, songs, and encouraging words. This ABC Post Office teaches kids basic alphabet recognition through a postal theme. Get it? Letters and letters. It features big, smooth, colorful pieces that are easy for little hands to grab and hold. The playset has a built-in "hotspot," which is a slot kids can plug characters and some props into to hear the set identify it by name or otherwise react with other phrases, such as the ABC song. The set also includes a pretend postal scale that identifies the included "small package" and "big package" props. Parents will be glad to know that the playset has two volume settings and an off switch. An auto shut off feature conserves batteries when children wander away and forget to turn it off. Inside the box you'll find the playset, three characters, letter and package props, a mailbox, and a detachable "conveyor belt" slide.

My 11 month old received this toy for Christmas this year and LOVES it. However, like most children his age he is teething and sticks everything in his mouth. Well, the paint on the characters is coming off in his mouth. So, we have to watch him very carefully so that he isn't putting the little characters in his mouth. Other than the paint coming off, it's a cute toy. It doesn't do much, but it entertains my son for at least 10 minutes and that's quite an achievement!!

My son received the smartville ice cream shop for his first bday. he played with it all the time. We bought him the rest of the set for christmas. This is definitely his favorite toy. He is 15 months now and he plays with this set almost all day long. This is one of the best things I could have bought for him. He understands how it works by placing the characters on the round spots. I feel it will be a great teaching tool for when he is ready to learn the alphabet and his numbers.

I put this toy on my son's first birthday wish list and it's completely forgettable. It isn't engaging, interesting or fun, and the pieces just lie around - there's no way to conveniently store the pieces when not in use. Don't waste your money. There are so many other great things out there!
