This review is from: V3969A1 Plug-in Type Speedy NiMH & NiCd Charger with 4 pcs 9V 250mAh NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (Electronics)
I first tested the newly arrived Tenergy NiMh 250 mAh 9 volt batteries with an old Radio Shack battery tester. They all indicated middle-of-the-green on the tester dial. I further tested the battery duration by installing on my mini camera and it lasted 56 minutes. A previous 9 volt Duracell alkaline battery lasted about 25 or so minutes. I then recharged the Tenergy battery for ten hours (it then indicated top-of-the-green) and it lasted for 1 hour and 8 minutes. This experience speaks for itself. I'm very pleased with this charger's performance. I had read that the four 9 volt rechargable Tenergy batteries which came with this charger were "not fully charged" so I decided to test them and I'm glad I did.According to the charger directions, the red LED light will glow when charging all batteries. The red light will change to green when rechargable AA and AAA batteries are fully charged. The charger will then automatically drop to a trickle charge. IMPORTANT: When charging 9 volt batteries, the red light will NOT change to green (according to the directions) which I assume means it's not automatically dropping to trickle. The user must moniter the time (10 - 15 hours) and then remove the batteries. After charging, I now test the batteries with the old tester to see if they need more than ten hours. It's too bad the charger directions don't further describe whether the 9 volt battery charging function is automatic or manual. The product is made of heavy and somewhat rugged material. Doesn't look like it will damage easily. It is UL listed. Remember: UL does not approve anything, yet so many people unknowingly think they do. It certifies products according to their standards (which does not mean approval).

This charger is not working properly.Even after full charge, the 9V rechargeable batteries last less than one day (using them for a few hours in a baby call). I'm returning it. I don't think the issue is with the batteries, I am using Tenergy AA and AAA with another charger and they work fine, I think the charger is the issue.

More expensive initially, great money saver over time,

Before we bought this we would spend over $20 on batteries each month for our son's toys. Now that we bought this package we have easily saved over $100. Although the charged lifespan doesn't last as long as normally bought batteries it definitely pays off. Definitely recommend this!
