When I bought my 17" Macbook Pro I knew I need a hard case for it. It travels with me everyday. The laptop fits in the case perfectly (with the use of custom corner padding made from high impact foam). There is room for the charger and wireless mouse placed on the top of the laptop. I use a thin sheet of foam to separate them from the laptop. I also carry in the pockets cleaning materials a flash drive and there is still room for documents or a couple of magazines. I am pretty sure the computer would survive a fall from a couple of feet with the shock absorbing materials I have used. As far as the case goes, for the price this is way out the best deal. The quality is good and with care the case will outlast your laptop, way better than a soft case of any sort for this size of laptop for protection as well as handling when removing or replacing the laptop in the case. I definitely would not check it on an airplane, for that you would need a much more robust case, but as a compact case for everyday use it's a no brainer.

I am very pleased with the quality and features of this case.

I bought this case for my husband to use as his briefcase. It seems a lot more durable than the standard leather briefcases we have bought in the past. Only time will tell if will last longer than a year without falling apart.

The Vangaurd 3" Aluminum Case is a very stylish and very cool; all my friends comment on how awesome it looks when they see it. I bought the case to take my Asus Eee PC 1201N down to Florida on the plane, and it preformed great (You still have to take your Laptop/Netbook out of the case for X-Raying.) The case fit comfortably under the seat in front of me and didn't get a scratch on it at all during the entire trip. The case is a key lock, not a combination lock, which I thought was misleading, which is the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. The clasps each lock down with the same key (and the claps actually are really cool), and there is a separate number coded lock and key for the middle of the case (ex: so If you have key 123, it wont open my case of 098). The inside of the case features an adjustable Velcro divider to make sure your Laptop/Netbook fit snug and a Velcro strap to keep your Laptop/Netbook in place. The inside top of the case has an organizer for documents, pens, business cards, etc... This case comes with a removable shoulder strap as well.

Overall I'd recommend this case for its functionality, style/cool factor, and ruggedness. Just be warned that this is a key lock, not a combination lock (Which is not necessarily a bad thing!)

I got is case for my husband for a gift to put his computer in. What a nice looking and strong case it is. When he wears this one out I will get him another. He really likes it!!!

Great laptop cases... hard shell and very sturdy will protect your pc without a worry. I have another model before this one that I use that is next size up.. more width... This one I bought for my 14 year, for his laptop.. Highly recommened rather than the soft carry bags that offer no protection really at all.
