I just came back from a trip to several cities in Italy where I used this adapter at every hotel and it worked perfectly.

This worked great on our trip to Rome. Having never been to Europe before I wasn't sure exactly what type of adapter I needed. My primary concern was charging my laptop and I didn't want to fork over $40 to Apple for the "World Traveller Kit" since I don't travel abroad that often. After reading some reviews, this was the perfect solution. In fact, any "Southern European" adapter worked (there were a few generic ones in the apartment we rented that also worked fine).

One note to those travelling to Italy. After my research, I thought that Italian plugs were different than other southern European countries, but I'm not sure that's the case. From the pictures, I assumed Italy used 3 prongs instead of the 2 on other southern european plugs I had seen. When I got there, I found that the appliances in the apartment we rented all had 2 prongs. The receptacles did accept 2 or 3 prongs, but the 3 are evidently not required.

Still, I rate this product highly because I didn't fry my laptop. Definitely worth the money. This will take care of the prong conversion, you just want to make sure your power adapter can handle the higher voltage input (220V), it's usually printed right there on the adapter.

This was a great deal, however when I plugged it into the outlet it was a tight fit and would slowly work it's way out of the outlet. This happened in many outlets throughtout Italy so it wasn't just a faulty outlet. I happened to have another one I purchased at Radio Shak for like $12 and it worked wonderfully. I wouldn't buy this one, but it does work ok.

Not just "to Italy". Was travelling to Chile and many of their grounded outlets accept this type of 3-pronged plugs. Worked without a problem

after searching multiple sites and finding international adapters priced at $15+, i was relieved to find this adapter on amazon. since shipping far outweighed the price of one adapter, i bought two. both were good quality and came in handy.

Before going to Europe I researched what plug converters I would need. There seems to be a big discussion on line for Italy of 3 prongs vs 2 prongs. I had an old 2 prong converter so I took that as well as my new 3 prong converter. The places we stayed in Florence, Venice and the Cinque Terre area of Italy it didn't really matter if it was 2 or 3 prong, they both worked. I also used this in Barcelona, Spain and it worked great. This product was well used since this time my trip included a lot more electronics than before.

Sometimes adaptors don't work as advertised, but this one worked just fine. It's a lot more inexpensive than other models, but did all I needed. Don't forget though, an adaptor is not a converter. Be sure you get what you need.

We used this product in Italy in several different cities. We had no problems or issue. We highly recommend this product.
Without it none of our electric devices would have worked. We used it on a hair dryer, camera battery charger, shaver, etc.
It is mall compared to many other units, and the price was a bargin.

I bought this when I was taking my mother to Italy for her 63rd birthday. It worked like a charm. It allowed me to plug in my laptop to stay on top of emails from work and allowed me to charge my cell phone. I would definitely recommend if you are traveling to Italy!
