I'd give this 2.5 stars if I could. It works OK when it works, but I have had it die, only a couple months after replacing the battery (because it died before). After it dies, the whole thing has to be reset, and that's a nuisance. Have owned it for just over a year and a half. It's my first bike computer. Looking for a more reliable one.

I needed a bike computer that fit on my rear wheel, since my front wheel is fitted with an electric motor. This wireless bike computer fit the bill! Works flawlessly...wish it stored Maximum Speed though.

works perfectly in any kind of weather.It's easy to install and I don't get any false readings from other electronic waves in the busy streets of New York City .Excellent product.

Just bought this from Nashbar, and was totally disappointed. Does not work at all. Despite trying 2 magnets, and having them only 1mm from the sensor, it would still only read occasionally. Try a different computer, don't waste your time and money on this one!

Setup was not a breeze and the owners manual was not helpful. In use, transmission is spotty. It reads 0 mph frequently. At 24 mph it gives an odd error readout. Given the confusing manual, my iffy results could be the result of operator error.

The VDO C1dS bicycle computer is head and shoulders above my last 2 computers. one fell off in the woods and was never heard from again,while the other would erratically report i was going 75 mph and had traveled 150 miles,during an easy 12 mph 3 mile bike ride.The old computer was possesed. it had to go.

Then i saw the very economical VDO on Amazon. Great features,good looking unit,great price.

It is winter here in the land of the rainy january,so i havent been able to test it,

a few laps in my basement at home tells me it's working correctly after installation(do yourself a favor and look around on Amazon for a big ol' magnifying glass.you will need it to read the instruction manual.Damn them and their tiny type!).

Hope to ride my bike soon and enjoy all the high end features of the VDO C1DS.

the vdo c1ds is a fantastis product for the rider who wants a good system for a budget beating price i trully cant complain it was worth the money very good product.

PROS: The price is right. The display is legible.

CONS: No Maximum speed. I was disappointed when I realized this. It seems like every computer in this price range has it - except this one! Not a big deal - just a disappointment. The documentation is poor. Seems like someone translated the German to English. The ride reset requires 4-6 button pushes depending which screen you are viewing when you reset! And it will take you a half hour to find this in the documentation. The auto start/stop works on a ride, but you need to rouse it from sleep mode at the start of a ride. You can store data for two different bikes and swap the computer between them, but finding just the mount to buy for the second bike will be a challenge.

SUMMARY: I'm satisfied for the money I paid. And once you get used to it, it does what it's supposed to do.

This computer worked great for a little over a year but then began dying on me all the time. I've replaced the batteries several times, so that's not the problem. Something must be wrong with the transmitter. I will not buy another VDO product to replace it.

This item was great while it worked, but it didn't last a month. Installation went fine and I loved the product. However, after just a few short rides it quit communicating between the sensor and the computer unit. After many attempts to readjust, I gave up and ordered a more expensive CATEYE unit which is working fine.
