I received my order of Velcro Fabric Fusion.
I applied it yesterday to a difficult material, nylon.
Following the directions, I took the intended item and applied a measured cut strip to the designated area. I then took a damp towel and folded it over the nylon fabric with the applied Velcro facing down. I then applied a steam iron set at its highest setting and applied it with steam to the towel over the target area. I applied steaming and careful ironing for 90+ seconds. Removed the modified item and let it cool for 24 hours. I just finished soaking it in a lukewarm bowl of water for about 15 minutes and took it out to air dry.
The applied area was originally stiff, but I kneaded the area and it is now pretty flexible. There is no discernible damage or melting to the nylon fabric, no discoloration. The Velcro is well anchored and shows no sign of separation, even when intentionally tugging and pulling the strip. Its on there pretty strong.
I intend to perform one more soak tomorrow. The Velcro website states that this particular tape strengthens with washing as the adhesive is water activated.
I have several more items to modify and I will still test the tape for durability but so far the product works as claimed as long as you carefully follow the application instructions.

Update:
I have been using a tool holster modified with this product. This holster sees use literally every day with multiple openings and closings daily. So far the applied product shows no sign of failure. It is literally like it is sewn on. I've since applied this product to other holsters and the result is the same. No signs of failure, no indications of even the edges coming loose.
I've worn out the velcro in pouches with constant use. This velcro application will now let me rejuvenate old worn out velcro in my old nylon pouches.
This product indeed does what it claims.

Worked great on cotton and seems to hold up fine after washings. Only giving it 4 stars because as noted by another reviewer, product description should more clearly indicate that the total amount of the tape is counting BOTH sides. So you really could end up with half the amount you expect. I knew this before purchasing, thanks to another reviewering, so it was acceptable. BUT I would have been pretty upset to find out if I purchased before knowing this.

I used this to reinforce the bottom panel on a pet play pen. The pet play pen arrived with very few velcro contact points on the bottom panel. I wasn't fond of the idea of ironing velcro tape to a vinyl material, but the effort proved worth while.

It's important to exercise caution when performing the directions provided by the manufacturer. They instruct the consumer to set their iron at the highest steam/temperature setting and apply pressure to the area where the velcro tape is to be applied. The instructions say to apply heat/steam for 90 seconds. They also suggest using a separate cloth between the iron and fabric to prevent scalding. Do this. I used a white hand towel folded over(2-ply) and after treating about 10 separate pieces of velcro, the hand towel became discolored and burnt in some areas.

I first tried treating the velcro tape with 30 seconds of pressure from a heavily steaming iron - that didn't work.

I then tried treating the velcro tape with 60 seconds of pressure from a heavily steaming iron - that didn't work.

I finally tried treating the velcro tape with 90 seconds of pressure from a heavily steaming iron - that did in fact work.

(After the 30 & 60 second attempts, I allowed the materials to return to room temperature.)

Obviously I took my time trying to get this done right, and my patience paid off. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.

My only concern is that the velcro tape(sticky side) had a plastic backing to protect the adhesive. Many areas of the tape were unprotected - the tape was peeling off - leading me to believe that the adhesive might have worked better if better preserved - that's exactly how it was out of the box.

Anyways, I hope this velcro tape lasts - I did spend a lot of time working with it.

After all my buttons fell off my duvet cover it was wide open. I needed a quick fix. The opening was roughly 5 feet so I used this entire roll on the comforter. Follow the directions and if anything do longer then the recommended time and you will have a bond that is stronger then sewing and hassle free. It also is waterproof and actually becomes stronger the more you wash it. Very impressed. I guess if you know how to sew it would be cheaper to buy the sewable velco and do it yourself in about the same amount of time this takes but for those that don't this is great!

I have a microfiber couch with modular (not connected) back cushions. The cushions would always move and eventually fall off the couch, making it not only uncomfortable to sit on, but also gave the couch a sloppy look because the cushions looked like they were just thrown on there. I do not sew, and I did not want to have to hire someone to come and connect the cushions to the couch.

My application of this was not exactly as the directions indicated because it was not possible ironing onto the couch. The directions state to apply the velcro strips and then iron the other side of the fabric to have the glue on the velcro attach to the fabric. I laid down 3 strips on each cushion, the felt side on the sofa, and the velcro side on the cushion. I then put a thin cloth over the top of each piece and ironed on directly like that. This method eventually worked, but it did take many applications (including re-ironing a week later because some strips were coming loose).

Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It took a decent amount of work and rework, but my cushions on my couch now stay in place, but I still have the option of moving/taking them off if I wish because of the velcro.
