Basic Wired Computer,

After previously buying an RT55HD (no longer made) I hastily bought this one too, hoping it would be similar. Don't get me wrong...it works great & is accurate if programmed with the correct tire size. But it only tells current speed, odometer, trip odometer & the clock. My fault - I didn't read the description close enough.
If you want or need one that tells total trip time & average speed, look into a better one. So I own two now made by Vetta on two different bikes. Both are easy to set up & easy to use. Rugged - won't accidently pop off as some other brands do.

I've installed a number of these, so I didn't find the instructions confusing at all. The steps are pretty straightforward, and are the same for any cycling computer that doesn't have a sensor for pedaling cadence. You mount the head bracket on your handle bars, the sensor on a fork leg, and the magnet on a spoke. Adjusting the position of the magnet and the sensor can be somewhat tricky, since the gap between them has to be "right." This was the first one that included anything to help you get that gap correct. The spoke mounted magnet has a rubber cap on it, and you adjust the sensor and the magnet until the protruding point on this temporary cap touches the sensor in the right spot, tighten up the clamps and screw, and take the cap off of the magnet.
The only other thing is to route the wire connecting the sensor to the bracket, unless you're installing a wireless model. One pleasant surprise is that this one also included a separate rubber base for the head bracket that accommodated the riser handle bar on my son's bike. Now I just have to get him to look where he's riding rather than watching the speedometer for his top speed. :)

I was surprised how quickly the package arrived. (Only one business day.) The product is great, I love knowing what my current speed is, and also how far I have traveled. Also the auto shut off is a nice feature, I have peace of mind knowing the battery isn't being wasted. But I was disappointed to find that the product I ordered was missing an essential part, which was the backing for the battery. I had to construct my own piece of plastic so that the battery was kept in place and didn't rattle around. Over all, a good product for biking lovers. Fast shipping, nothing was damaged, but parts were missing.

Great bicycle computer for the price. Easy installation, comes with a little do-dad which makes the magnet alignment foolproof. I bought two of them and had them both installed in about 20 minutes, tops!
Computer has a little locking mechanism to keep it in place and keep it secure. Nice big display, auto start, resettable trip meter and a cumulative mile counter. Comes with a black and a Silver face plate to suit your taste. Wife loves racking up the miles with hers and she enjoys knowing she has done so!

Happy with my purchase,

The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because I found it very difficult to install. The instructions were not very helpful at all. Once I did get it installed properly, it works great!

OK, I should have read the description more closely, and noticed it only shows speed and mileage, not ride time, average speed, maximum speed, etc. Still, for $17, not bad. Except the trip mileage only resets when it wants to, not when I want it to, and there's a long delay in the speed reading when you're riding. I'll throw this on a crappy old bike and buy a better one.

...at least not on mountain bikes. Your tire spokes have to be inordinately CLOSE to your bike's fork in order for the magnet to register as it revolves by the sensor.
First, the package was shipped with a dead battery. Strike one. $5 additional bucks later I got the computer programmed - difficult with the written instructions, opt for the mini-dvd version, it's easier to read. The magnet was very difficult to attached to the spokes, very poor design there. Strike two. Then attached the sensor, and had to use homemade spacers (faucet washers) and the only way the seonsor would register was if the sensor was so far extended it actually interferred with the tire's rotation!!!! BIG strike three. Perhaps this would work on a touring bike, or a racing bike, but whichever style it should have spokes that are between 1/8th and 1/16th of an inch away from the fork.

As someone just starting to cycle the Vetta RT233 was invaluable. It is simple, your speed is displayed as a large, easily readable number. Aside from that the Vetta RT233 has the time, your milage for a single ride and total milage logged on your Vetta RT233. It was a bit difficult to install, but I managed to get it mounted on my bike in around 25 minutes. It is fantastic for its price, but not for someone looking for a higher end sensor

The readings are accurate once the correct wheel size has been entered into the initial setup, as I validated it with a GPS. The manual provided is very useful and error free with good english, unlike some of the other products I've read about. Installation was a breeze with the usual screwdriver. However, there should be an option to choose the colors of the cover. Mine came with black and silver but on the pictures it was shown as blue. It is very easy to detach too so just press the side button to remove it when you've parked your biketo prevent theft! Overall very good value for money.

The bike computer was just what I wanted! Not to many functions, so it is very easy to use, and it is pretty accurate as well.
