5.0 out of 5 stars What I expected, but one thing I didnt...
This cable looks solid, for the price, really *cant* complain. I was not looking for "professional" quality, because honestly, when you are hooking up to a 15-18" non-widescreen CRT monitor, are you really going to be able to tell the difference from this cable and a MS/Monster/other "superior" cable? Chances are: no.

Pros: Price [very cheap], gets the job...

1.0 out of 5 stars These cables give a "ghost" image on the screen and are JUNK.

I purchased these cables (shipped from Vista Gaming Products) to use my Xbox360 with my Dell 24" 2405FPW Monitor. I was using some component cables before and the picture quality was good at 720p but I wanted to see what it looked like with the VGA cables.

Immediately the picture was softer looking and sort of blurry with a ghost image. I went through and tried all the different display settings in the 360 menus and on the monitor and the picture stayed the same way, a ghost image off to the right and a softer looking picture. I tried wiggling the connector ends to see if I could get it better on both the monitor side and the 360 side but had no luck.

These are just thin, cheaply made cables unlike the other better quality cables. I suggest spending a few more dollars on some better cables so you aren't throwing your money away like I did.

This cable is complete crap. Right out of the box it would ONLY support absolute minimum resolution. Setting to anything higher than that would result in a distorted image. After a week even at low resolution even that was starting to have display problems. I switched to another cable and got a crystal clear picture. This is complete junk.

Pros: Price [very cheap], gets the job done and has RCA audio connectors [I already have a RCA -> mini stereo jack adapter for headset/speakers], and all in all looks durable construction wise.

Cons: I wondered if it came with a FEMALE to FEMALE gender changer for the VGA 15 pin connector [because several other products come with one], which I came to find was not included. Not so much an issue since it is not claimed to come with one in the description, but would be helpful to know in advance.

All in all, if you *ARE NOT* trying to get quality that impresses video engineers, get this cable! It gets the job done and is *CHEAP*! Win-win IMO.
I'm not an expert, but if your tv/graphics card/etc supports HDMI cables, opt for that, because it is HD and audio all in one. But if you need a simple solution to hook up your Xbox 360 to your second monitor next to your normal PC monitor so you don't have to walk to the next room to play some GTA4/Dead Rising/Burnout Paradise on a normal television where the text is illegible due to the resolution, GET THIS! You will be glad you did! :)

Worth the money! Ships very quick! Mine shipped the next day after ordering [ordered on a Sunday around 3pm] and arrived within 4 days of shipping standard! Very impressed! Keep up the great work Amazon and suppliers!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheep but works well,, February 14, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: VGA HD AV Cable Xbox 360 (Electronics)
The cable I received has the same outputs and works identically to the Microsoft one. (I have both) The cable casing and plugs however are cheap looking. Its shiny hard plastic and feels much lower quality than the Microsoft one. Mine did have an optical out, though I did not test it.

Functionally with both 360's side by side connected to LCD monitors and Logitech X540/x530 speakers I cannot tell which has the MS cable and which has this one.

If I was on a budget I would defiantly buy this one again. If I was not then I would pick up the Microsoft cable.

4.0 out of 5 stars No Optical, January 14, 2009
This review is from: VGA HD AV Cable Xbox 360 (Electronics)
Good quality for a 3rd party disposable cable. The dragon cable however doesn't have an optical (toslink, spdif) output, just the RCA stereo jacks. Not a big deal for most people using a VGA cable, but if you're going to plug it into a home theater for the extra resolution (read up on DVD upscaling limitations on the 360...) you probably want to find one with optical out for your surround sound.

When I got this cable in the mail, I saw that the plastic casing it was in was a little beaten up. It didn't matter because when I got the cable out, I plugged it into my Xbox 360 and my monitor and the picture quality was amazing, amazing for only $3. There is no breaks in the cable, it has noticeable HD, and to top it off, optical audio input.

One downside, there is no HD~TV switch on the console's end, which I believe doesn't really matter since its producing in HD anyways.

Overall, this cable is really wonderful for the $9 I spent on it and it got here a day before I was expecting it

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Sacrafice Quality for Money, March 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: VGA HD AV Cable Xbox 360 (Electronics)
The video quality with this cable is absolutely horrible. The image is only clear on the lowest resolution. Once you raise the resolution, the image seems to have a splitting effect like it is trying to create a 3D image of some sort. This makes the video quality nearly unusable. Save your money and get a Official Xbox 360 VGA cable, quality is much higher! I bought the Microsoft version the same day I got this one and it was far superior. Don't skimp on quality when it comes to analog HD cables. Trust me!
