Waste of money.,

Get real. This gadget does not help in the least bit as far as picture clarity. I wasted my money. The people selling it are probably laughing at all us fools who bought this useless device. Again it does not improve anything or change the picture really at all. Again, don't waste your money. Buy a better TV or HDTV if you want any picture improvement.

Big Waste!,

First of all how can this be considered an "enhancer" when it requires you to use lowly RCA composite cables. Why downgrade from S-video or component connectors? Besides on most modern t.v.'s there are enough video controls to adjust. At the very least (unless you have an older t.v.) you should wait for a model that supports S-video or component.

I agree, waste of money,

All 3 of my TV's have brightness settings. My computer monitor has a brightness setting. What is the use of this thing. They didn't even mention anything about S-VIDEO or COMPONENT(HDTV) connections. I would also give this a '0' star if one existed and I'm not a pessimistic person! :)

I got this thing thinking it would better my game play. Well, as it turns out, monsters still hide in the dark and power ups are still hard to see. You know why? BECAUSE THATS THE WAY THE GAME WAS MENT TO BE PLAYED! I wasted 40 bucks on something that I could have done with my remote controll. Please, if you want to purchase this item, go right ahead. I am just saying its not worth your money unless you do have a 15 or 16 year old tv.

A must for gamers without s-video!,
By A Customer
This review is from: VGE Video Game Enhancer (Video Game)
At first I didn't think this device would do anything, but now that I've used it I know it works very well. It's an absolute must for anyone that doesn't have s-video connections (if you do, you'll have to wait until an s-video version is available). It makes the games look better, and I find myself always using it -- not just for dark games. Colors are more vivid and details of the game are more visible. Don't take my word for it though, there are a couple professional reviews on the 'net and they'll give you all the details.

VGE, the non-functioning annoyance,
By J.L. Perlstein (Pasadena, Ca United States) - See all my reviews

At Christmas I got one of these "enhancers". I plugged it in and it brightened up my tv, making my video games look slightly better. 3 Months later, my tv wasn't responding. My vcr wasn't responding either. I thought the vcr had died, and so bought another vcr. I plug that vcr and nothing worked. this vcr failed to work too! Out of curiosity, I dissconnected the VGE "enhacer". All of a sudden, BOTH my vcrs worked! After returning the vcr I bought, I determined that this product had stopped working, blocking and scrambling the signal. Later, I managed to "enhance" my picture by simply adjusting contrast and color!

There is a difference ...,
This review is from: VGE Video Game Enhancer (Video Game)
Between BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST.Please don't listen to the reviews below. This little box provides fairly high quality contrast control, especially for televisions that cannot do it by itself. When you crank the brightness up on a monitor(aka tv), you will notice that EVERYTHING is "brighter" ... even the blacks ... which is NOT supposed to be happening. Contrast seperates and enhances the whites and blacks(without making the blacks look GREY) and helps to provide a brighter and more vivid picture. Anyone who is interested in DVDs should know about contrast ;) Have fun. Don't believe the hype ...

does the vge enhancer work,
By "anime5678" (canda) - See all my reviews

this enhancer does not do anything your tv cant. All that it does is let you adjust the contrast and brightness from a little machine. It makes the picture brighter, sometimes making it harder to view. when it says to use it when the picture is dark all it does is make the screen completey hazy. Your tv is the same thing as the vge enhancer. it does nothing. Do not buy it. it is the thing that microsoft and nintendo and sony worked to stop. it ruins the whole picture. I have opened up the vge enhancer and found nothing that would enhance a game. Ive found the components to make a tv brighter.

i work at a game store in nj, and i have seen it , i did not think it was going to be good based on the pictures on the box but this gives you a sharp clear bright image that you otherwise might not get , unless your tv is new and is hdtv or somthing then this would be a good product.

I was hesitant to spend $40 on this especially w/ the mixed reviews. I have a projection TV that is just too dark with my PS2 and DVD player. I bought a Monster Cable S-video cable and it helped but not much. I was worried it would fade out or distort the picture and I didn't want to go back to composite cables. The color is still rich and bright with no noticeable distortion. I would recommend this for anybody with a projection TV with a picture that is too dark but as for a tube or LCD TV you're better off with a set of quality cables. It's hard to find this product but I found mine on ebay and paid half the MSRP. Any questions you can e-mail me at jlnann68@hotmail.com
