This release is barely worth one star because of the DVD mastering and quality.
1. The DVD is non anamorphic widescreen. This means, if you watch it on a HDTV, even with a blu-ray or upscale player, the DVDs picture is windowed in the center of the screen (black bars around all four sides) even though it was shot in widescreen.
2. The picture quality is terrible. Played on a PS3, Bluray, and Macbook, all three looked pixelated. Full screen on my Macbook looked WORSE than the streaming video from [...].
3. The DVD audio is only 2 channel stereo, no 5.1.
4. The last track Love Lockdown, which is available on [...], is not on the release in DVD or CD form.
5. DVD and CD are edited for content (not a huge complaint as the source material was edited for broadcast).

This is an insult to the fan and consumer. If you have seen the HD broadcast on MTV's Palladia, you know the source material is not the problem. I plan on writing to the address on the back of the DVD/CD "Island Def Jam Music Group, 825 Eighth Ave, NY, NY" and tell them they have lost my business and will not purchase a poorly made DVD like this again; I suggest anyone else who bought this title should do the same.

After having had the Storytellers performance on CD from other sources for the past three months I was excited to see an official release available...however after purchasing it I feel like I just wasted $12 for something I already had a better version of. Everything about this product is sub par at best, the video quality is poor, the extra tracks should have also been on the CD, and leaving out the song he ended the show with ('Love Lockdown) doesnt make any sense at all, the album just stops.

When i purchased this I did realize it was a DVD not Blu-Ray, but even with that in mind, as soon as i popped it in my Blu-Ray player I was so disappointed. Picture quality was very bad even with upscaling, on top of that it only offered 2 channel audio. Are you serious? For a concert dvd 5.1 is essential. I cannot believe i rather watch my MTV Palladia version with commercials on my DVR than this DVD i just paid for.

I have had the audio for this since a few days after it came out and I jumped at the chance to own an official copy of it.

Unfortunately this release is so completely hobbled.

The dvd that comes with this set includes new performances that for some reason are not included on the cd.

The songs are heavily edited. Even more than the original broadcast. This can be seen clearly on the song "flashing lights" where Kanye says "That's a story for your ass". On this official cd this is edited to "That's a story for your ______". Is it a big deal? To me it is, I do not want my music censored. I think this is my main problem with this cd. (Watching the dvd I noticed that the "that's a story" line is not censored. Then why edit it on the cd?) The packaging should say somewhere on it that it is an edited version.

When I bought this cd I assumed that it would have the entire VH1 performance, but as a final slap in face they have removed the final song "Love Lockdown" from both the cd and dvd. Its not like it wouldn't fit on the cd. I really should have read the back of the cd, but there was no reason to think that song wouldn't be there.

And so, for the first time when buying a Kanye West cd I a filled with regret, buyers remorse.

It's a great concert, and I was lucky to find it brand new at Amazon. It's the best concert I've never physically attended!

Like the title says, you are purchasing this for the CD with the DVD being a bonus. So all the reviews complaining about DVD quality definitely missed the point.

This album brings to light the producing style and artistic direction West is heading. Simply put it is amazing. It's great to see that West doesn't stop growing when the song hits the album. He continues to build and refine his favorite songs as he performs them live. To the point that they sound like completely different songs with a live band behind him. Especially the tracks from 808's, his lyrical mastermind turned what could only be described as "emo" music into a huge crowd pleasing, panty throwing, dancing, screaming the lyriucs out loud affair.

The DVD has some extras such as a Q n A session that lets you see a little deeper into the genius that is Kanye West. The songs that didn't air live were cut for a reason though, only 1 of the 3 is worth watching. The others seem as though they either missed some type of post production or just didn't go with the set well.

For any Kanye fan this is a must buy, especially for those of us that haven't had the fortune of seeing or hearing him live. You get a great taste of why Kanye is the best and the pure emotion that drives him there. Final advice: Listen to the CD on its own well in advance of watching the DVD. It reminded me of reading a book and then seeing the feature film, it just doesn't compare to what your mind can create.

Wasn't really a big Kanye fan but have more respect now after seeing this awesome concert in Palladia. I liked it so much I just had get the DVD but it's such a disgrace to Kanye because of the very poor quality of this DVD. It's pixelated and audio is only Dolby 2.0?! My cable tv was a lot better than this DVD - 1080p and Dolby 5.1. Only give it 3 stars because even though it's a great concert the DVD ruined it.

Other then the fact it's censored, Kanye's performance and VH1 storytellers setup is the best live emotional act I have ever seen, Embrace with love!!!

The dvd/cd are cool and do what they were bought for. The service was quick and the item was in perfect condition. No complaints here.
