Product Description

VHT SP183 Satin Black High Heat Wheel Paint is a polyurethane paint specifically designed for steel and aluminum wheels. VHT wheel paint provides a great finish and real protection for all standard and custom wheels. Wheels take a beating both on and off the road from sand, salt, sun, brake dust and rocks which severely damage the appearance and protection of the wheel surface. This unique product resists chipping, cracking and fading, while protecting the wheel surface from oxidation. Careful preparation is essential to insure proper adhesion. VHT wheel paint is part of a multi high performance coating system. The coating system products consist of primer, paint, and clear coat. VHT wheel paint dries to the touch in 30 minutes and completely over night. Complete application and instructions are also printed on each can.

I used VHT Paint System - (Primer, Satin Black, and Clear) to restore my motorcycle wheels which had over 100,000 miles on them and looked pretty beat up.

I really like working with VHT spray paint and is my first choice for a number of different applications from brake parts to engine blocks. So when I was looking for paint to restore my wheels, I turned to VHT.

This paint spray nicely - and dries to the touch in 30 minutes. They suggest two light coats followed by one medium coat allowing 10 minutes in between coats. All coats should be applied within 1 hour. Any additional coats after the one hour - you need to wait 7 days for the paint to cure.

This is about the only spray paint I have found that you can actually use rubbing compound to polish out the final coat and achieve a really smooth, glossy surface. My wheels look like brand new :)

I purchased two of these cans of spray wheel paint for my truck. After thoroughly prepping the wheels with Scotch Brite pads, cleaning with acetone and self-etching primer I sprayed this paint on and they ended up looking great! It's been a month since I painted them and I see no sign of the paint flaking off or chipping. As with any paint, surface preparation is crucial!

Just a little bit glossier than I expected but a great finish. May need two cans per car if you want to do a couple of coats.

I purchased VHT sp148, sp183, and sp184 to paint the rims of my car flat black. I was a little bit hesitant because I didn't see as many reviews for VHT, which is why I'm writing this review- they came out great

A couple hours and about 2 cans of each mentioned, and my rims came out just like I wanted. I have no experience with spray paint, but it was really easy to get a nice even shade. It's been about 2 months so far and I haven't noticed any chipping after all of the ice, mud, salt, and snow we've had.

So, If you're thinking about painting your rims black I would definitely recommend the products I mentioned

Worked very well to turn my rusty 14 year old wheels into a flat black & very clean look. I've had them painted for about a year and they look as good as the day I sprayed them. Highly recommended cheap upgrade to the look of your vehicle!

This wheel paint is ok. I painted my wheels black to change the look a bit, and it looks good. 1 can not enough, had to go to ace and get another can so you can do a couple layers. But I think it's good. I actually resanded my wheels and used another paint because the first time my wheels got bubbles so make sure to sand your wheels well and make it completely smooth

Good coverage, dries hard, sprays well and evenly.

It is holding up well. Only a two part LPU would have been better.
