All i can say is im very disappointed. I ordered this tablet. $200. I was under the impression the curriculum came preloaded on the device. Thats not the case. The curriculum is sold separately and individually for $90-$150 a piece. So by the time u buy the curriculum, your vinci learning system has an overall price of $600+. Thats sooo outrageous. the reviews on the original vinci werent so good, but i thought that maybe the kinks would be worked out on the new version. I only bought this tablet over the nabi 2 because i thought the curriculum was geared towards a younger age group. Which it is, but u will pay an additional $100 and thats only for the first stage of the curriculum. I should have read the fine print on product features. I just figured $200 would be including the best feature about the whole tablet....

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
In this extremely competitive world of tablet computing Rullingnet Corporation's venture into various tablets for children is a very bold step indeed. Every Android tablet that is out on the market has its advantages and disadvantages. This whole technology in tablet computing is an experiment in progress and it all depends on which manufacturer hits the sweet spot in terms of price, quality in hardware and features that end-users like.

So, what does end-users like? - Obviously one that works reliably, has the fewest nagging bugs, has the best quality video and touch screen, is thin and light, feels solid and in the end durability and value for money.

Where does this VINCI tablet fit? - Remember, this was intended for the toddlers and kids up-to age 5 years at most as any older kid will obviously refuse to touch it as they can tell the difference between Kindle Fire HD 7" or Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and VINCI tab-II.

What must have differentiated this product from others would have been the quality in good software and Apps, but I am sorry to say while Rullingnet Corporation did their best effort in bringing creative apps for kids it surely is an expensive solution at this point in time. The price of Apps does weigh in and makes this product look very expensive to afford in the long run.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is a good little device. I find the form factor to be quite excellent. The soft little (feel free to suck on it) handle is a good addition to a tablet for children. In fact, I found myself carrying the tablet by the handle myself... it's easy and comfortable.

As a tablet it is easy to use and friendly enough, like all other Android based tablets. As a tablet for tiny children it is built well enough but the software is somewhat lacking.

The software is glitchy and limiting. I find the glitches and freezes to be annoying, but I cannot imagine a tiny little child enduring the frustration without crying. Of course that might be a good thing; we all must learn to deal with glitchy computers at some point in our lives. Computers are not going away.

I think that my greatest frustration with the software is that it is not meant to teach as much as it is meant to prepare. Like much of our modern education system, this device is "teaching to the test". If you are given a choice of puppy or kitten, for example, you can choose wrong. If you choose the puppy the system will acknowledge it and then on the next screen the character is walking with the kitten. You were given a choice, but the choice was not ultimately yours to make. The lesson: if you want to succeed you must choose what we want you to choose otherwise you will face the frustration of our changing your selection to what we wanted you to choose.

Another example is when we are given a choice to select food to take to Grandma. You can select from Apples, Cookies or Bread. I chose bread, but in the next screen I was carrying cookies to Grandma.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Let's start with the recommended age range for the product. The website indicates the target group is 18 months to 9 years. Nine years is a stretch. I suppose if I were going to buy a $200 gadget for my toddler to chew on, and occasionally watch a video, then this would be o.k. It has handles that are easy to grasp but overall it just doesn't feel that sturdy. I doubt if it would survive a trip down the stairs. The videos that come pre-installed are simplistic. The quality is slightly better than the wind up TV toy I played with as a kid.* After playing with the preinstalled applications, I would never spend money on any of the "paid" apps. The content of the preinstalled applications seemed to have more entertainment than education value. I played around with the Little Red Riding Hood game and it has some strange glitches. For example you are supposed to choose a food to take to grandma, and no matter what food you choose, LRRH always takes cookies.

I won't even tell you how agonizingly slow the Wi-Fi is. It has a 54 Mbps transfer rate. Feel free to take a nap and perhaps your transfer will be done when you wake up. I did attempt to install some apps from Google Play. This required a degree in computer science and a 12 year old to supervise and roll her eyes, but we did it. We downloaded "Where's My Perry" and it played o.k. it also plays Mp4, Mp3s and can run flash based websites, but be prepared to wait...and wait...and...wait because websites load slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.

Vinci Tab has the feel of a product that was rushed to market. The fundamental design of the device is good, but the material feels a tad flimsy and the applications/games/movies are terrible.
