Book Description

Noel Anderson, builder and businessman, has his life ripped apart when his family is brutally murdered. The three killers are eventually sentenced for their crime prompting Noel to set out on a religious crusade of forgiveness.

Noel fast becomes a media darling and discovers love again in a damaged young woman who, like himself, is one of society’s walking wounded. It is the police, though, who begin to question Noel’s motives when one of his wife and daughter’s murderers meets with a suspicious end. VIOLENCE is ultimately a towering tale, filled with suspense, hope and humor, which explores one man’s attempt to transcend tragedy and find his place again amongst the living.

***** MASTERPIECE!

By Erin R

OMG! I didn't know what to expect, I figured I'd check it out because I liked the title and enjoy crime-based dramas, but "VIOLENCE" really blew me away! It is a masterpiece! It just drew me in and I couldn't put it down. I kept thinking about the characters and couldn't wait to get back to them and the book.

Every chapter made me think about another aspect of life, loss, romance and rebirth and in the end it made me question my own feelings and actions regarding other people and life in general. I don't want to give it away but the ending was incredible and completely flipped everything I thought I knew up to that point. It was as good as any Alfred Hitchcock movie. Sometimes my heart was pounding and other times I was crying and then laughing. The only part I hated is when it ended. I wish there was already a sequel! "Violence" is amazing, don't miss this book - you'll love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars a new literary master!!! April 9, 2012
By Summer
Format:Kindle Edition
This book thrilled me! The story was spectacular, often horrifying, but never tasteless. The dialogue was realistic as were the characters. When the author wrote of technical details ie. wiretaps, gps moniters, he did it very precisely without overloading the information. Author showed a thorough knowledge of the psychological manipulation of jurys by the court system. I only had two problems with the book. One was that it ended and the second was that it ended. No spoilers...but I would have liked to know whether Anderson started a new business or went in with the old.

"Violence" A fiction novel written by: Timothy McDougall

Reviewed by Barbara Billig - author of "The Nuclear Catastrophe" (a fiction novel of suspense)

The author was kind enough to gift me a copy of his book "Violence". I read his autobiography and it seemed that he had adequate writing experience and recognition prior to this first novel attempt. I was not wrong. The book is very well written. In addition, this is a book that is related to survival in our current world.

His characters are active, moving, interesting. Add to the traditional family structure an outside group of psychopaths. These deviant people illustrate what the rest of us come up against on a random basis - Violence. The psychopath sees everything from only his perspective and all insights are about "him". The whole world of a psychopath is about "him" with no regard for anyone else's feelings or welfare. It has been said they make great corporate leaders. But if they are functioning as a psychopath on a much lower level then it is about survival for the people who have to deal with them.

The book also goes into our justice system in the manner of the trial after the crime. The justice system in the United States was designed so that 100 criminals would be released before one person would be falsely convicted. While that is very noble, if one is the victim of a crime and the perpetrator goes free ..... what now?

So, in summary, if you want a page turner, thriller, well written, great characters - read this book. It should be added to the survival list of reading.
