The S300M is fully functional in all the basic respects, but on my 2nd day of ownership, a vertical line appeared on the screen--permanently. yes, I could ship it back and get a warranty replacement, but the cost to my work of giving up my primary machine is just too high. I will live with it until I can reach a convenient location where the replacement can be done fairly quickly. I live outside the US, so a warranty is almost moot. I needed to replace my old machine, an 18-month old HP Pavilion with a failed motherboard (!), and had already gone several weeks without a machine. I was SO hoping I would not have more hardware issues to deal with. Outside of the screen though, it's quite functional. Styling could only be described as "Russian winter"--grey all over with a lot of hard edges :-) I will try to mitigate with a nice laptop sticker.
