Book Description

Make her fall madly in love with him and then dump her, that is the plan. Dante Vittorio has never forgiven Paige for ripping his heart out when she left him four years ago, and now that she’s back, Dante is out for revenge.

Paige is shaken to the core when she runs into Dante unexpectedly, and despite the fact she’s still in love with him, she refuses his invitation to pick up where they left off. But Paige is harboring a dark secret and she’ll do just about anything to keep Dante from finding out, including giving in to blackmail and becoming his mistress for one month.

I loved this story, but I confess, I'm a HUGE fan of both the romance genre and this particular author, having previously read some of her work through another site (BTW Will you PLEASE hurry up and publish ALL your stories on kindle?!).

There is a reason that I'm such a fan... This writer has a flowing style that I find easy to read and Vittorio's Mistress is everything that a romance, in my opinion, should be. It gives the reader a chance to experience a relationship that, though not without its fair share of serious misunderstandings, proves it has hidden strength. Yes, there are aspects of this story that are heartwrenching and there's enough bad feeling/blind stupidity in places to make you want to take the characters and bang their heads together but that, for me, is part of the joy of reading romance. Life never is simple, relationships aren't always easy and people can be cruel sometimes, especially when they feel they've been misled, but that shouldn't stop anyone from working at, struggling towards or hoping for a happy ending (there's a reason wedding vows say 'for better or worse' - sticky patches in romance are to be expected!) - through stories like Vittorio's Mistress, you get to see the work, struggle and hope rewarded... Perfect!

I've read a LOT of romances, both on kindle and in print format and this author is definitely one of my favourites, easily matching the standard of work produced by better known writers. I find it hard to believe that she hasn't been discovered yet by a publisher such as Silhouette or Harlequin.

All I can really say is - Enjoy! (then pester her to release the rest of this series!)

PLEASE NOTE: I am a UK Kindle user, but as I rated this story highly, and knew that US customers are not shown reviews left on Amazon.co.uk, I decided to copy my review across to this site too. I hope someone finds it helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Romance March 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm terrible at reviews, but here's to trying.

I've had the pleasure of reading many of Kim's novels on a community writing site. She's an awesome author and I love her work, but it is the Vittorio stories that truly shine.

Like all her men, Dante is devilish and sexy. He is single minded in his mission of revenge against his former flame, Paige, who suddenly left years ago breaking his heart. However, he soon finds out that he is no more immune to her than he ever was.

Paige has her own reasons for having left (though I refuse to spoil it!) and has never stopped loving Dante. When she runs into him unexpectedly, she fights to keep both her secret and to deny her intense feelings for him. Which is impossible!

This is a fantastic read. I am waiting and crossing my fingers that this author gets her other works published soon. What out for this one, she's going to be the next big thing!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tedious January 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This was tedious to read. It wasnt a bad story, just filled with narration, over blown drama, out of place formal speech, pride, overreactions, and too much lust mush brain syndrome. Not my writing or story telling preference but if the description interests you then you may enjoy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Read January 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this was an entertaining story but warning if you are not familiar with Italian men and how they can be very posessive I recommend you don't read this because the H can get pretty obnoxious. I semi admired the h since she was able to hold her own against his persuasion. Once again another story about misunderstandings that could have been avoided with just a small amount of communication. Glad I paid nothing for it but I would have happily paid no more than $3 for it. Happy Reading Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars Great novel. Highly Recommend! February 2, 2012

This was the first work by Kimberley Reeves that I read & I was not disappointed! Vittorio's Mistress was sexy, romantic, emotional, and moved at a good pace that doesn't leave the reader bored. The characters, Dante & Paige, were both well-developed and likeable. The plot & storyline was interesting & got me hooked. I started reading and couldn't put it down until I was finished three hours later, which was very early in the morning. This story was a definite page 'clicker' for me! I got absorbed into the story right away & couldn't wait to see what happened next between Paige & Dante.

Overall, author Kimberley Reeves impressed me with this novel! She is a great new voice in the romance genre and definitely one to look out for! I've already downloaded five of her other works & cannot wait to read them. Highly recommend Vittorio's Mistress for those looking to get lost in a light, sexy, and romantic novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vittorio's Mistress June 19, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Kimberley Reeves is a wonderful writer who makes me feel as though I'm in the book myself, as one of her characters. Vittorio's Mistress is a great example of her talent and I can't wait for her next book to follow! Nice work, Kimberley! I hope the next book comes out soon!

2.0 out of 5 stars this COULD be a good story.. January 27, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
..and that is why i gave it two stars. i do not hate this story, but i hate that the author has not taken her time and developed this plot the way she should have. i don't know if it's a lack of skill or a lack of interest, but it does a disservice to readers to blitz through a story without developing your characters. that being said, this is a solid OUTLINE with potential.

let me back up and first say that i nearly stopped reading this story six times. it was extremely difficult to complete, and what really drove me wasn't the plot itself, but rather the desire to give an honest review.

i think one reviewer used the word 'tedious' to describe the progression, and that is apt. the pov switches characters from one paragraph to the next and while it isn't the WORST i've seen, that type of inconsistency is very distracting. assuming the inconsistency is deliberately trying to accomplish something (moving the plot along, for example), i'd have to say it isn't successful. along those same lines, the passage of time is uneven. a day may stretch several pages then a month of activity is accomplished in a few paragraphs. and mind you, there is nothing wrong with such a technique in the hands of a skilled author, but here it just seems amateurish.

the real rub for me is that the entire story was on the edge of being good. the characters need to be fleshed out so that you can sympathize with them or hate them or love them or feel whatever it is you want to feel about them. it is really hard to do that at present, because the characters are so flat. the author does a lot of telling, and that's too bad, because a lot of the dialogue and actions don't make sense.
