Book Description

Simon Vittorio was determined to make Lilly his woman from the moment he first laid eyes on her. But when a car accident leaves him paralyzed, he falls into a dark depression and loses all hope of sharing a life together. When Lilly is hired as his physical therapist, he is ashamed to have her see him so weak and helpless, and employs every trick in the book to drive her away.

Regardless of Simon's fierce temper and sharp tongue, Lilly refuses to let him bully her into leaving. Not just because she believes she can help Simon walk again, but because she is hopelessly in love with him!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too angsty and cliche June 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So many cliche moments in this story, they literally had me rolling my eyes at times. I don't know that a story could ever be so far-fetched from reality as this one. Lilly had maybe three scenes where she behaved as a physical therapist would act with her client, and then she was shedding her clothes and hopping into his bed. The story was supposed to be about how Lilly helped Simon recover after his accident. The reader hardly sees any therapy occur, yet towards the end we see Simon is recovered. It's a miracle! It was also a miracle how lightening fast love developed between the characters without much effort being put into the relationship.

Here's a list of the multiple cliche moments I noted in this book . . .

Uber rich alpha male--check

Possessive male hero--check

Dense, saccharine sweet heroine who is supposed to be a professional but is so naive it's pathetic--check

I can't tell him/her how much I love him/her so I will use trickery to have him/her sexually instead--check

Big misunderstanding between hero/heroine about something easily explained if either one had used an ounce of common sense and just asked "hey what did you mean by this"--check

Hero trying to get heroine pregnant so she "will have no choice but to marry him"--check

Marriage after knowing each other maybe a month--check

****Spoiler alert****

A few things that bothered me about this story--the scene where Simon was poking pin holes in the condoms in an effort to try to get Lilly pregnant without her knowledge. I was also bothered by the scene where Simon intentionally got Lilly drunk and then had sex with her when she was all but passed out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fairly Decent *****SPOILER ALERT*** February 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the other Vittorio books in the series so I thought I'd take a chance on this one since it was offered as a free download on Amazon. I read it in one sitting, it was both entertaining and fairly well written. I also felt the cover was very enticing. Overall it was a fairly decent average read with some issues.

Spoiler alert:

My objection was the hero himself. What idiot pokes holes in condoms so he can trap a woman into marriage thru pregnancy? What moron pretends to be wheelchair bound after recovering from a divestating accident when they are quite able to walk? What jerk manipulates a woman into drinking and then proceeds to have non concentual sex with her while she is sleeping and in a drunk stooper? These are only the things I can think of off the top of my head. No strong Italian male that I know would ever act in this manner in order to procure a wife, not my type of hero at all.

Than there is the respect I lost for the heroine who brushes this type of behavior under the carpet and forgives him in the blink of an eye. I also cringed everytime she said she would be strong and avoid intimacy and bingo there she goes again in his arms.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much and not enough February 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The premise of this tale is fairly traditional, but the author evidently wanted to include so many "traditional" romance elements that the result was a complete mess. Dangling plot lines and unconvincing characters combined with poor editing to make this a complete disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A WARM AND PASSIONATE ROMANCE January 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Lily first saw Simon Vittorio in a night club where she was with friends celebrating her best friends birthday. At Six foot four heading towards their table he took her breath away although he never noticed her. The next time she saw Simon was under very different circumstances he had been in a serious accident and Simon's sister hired Lily as his therapist. unable to walk and with an injury to his eyes so he could not see. Lily was not the first therapist his sister had hired , Simon had fired them all or they had left, because he was a difficult patient refusing to co-operate. Lily is determined not to be intimidated. There is an attraction between them but Lily knows, that Simons reputation as a womaniser is well earned so tries not to get too attached.
This is a lovely and well written romance I really enjoyed it. The characters of Simon and Lily are well developed and interesting. The supporting characters also play a pivital role in the story as well. The love scenes between Simon and Lily are sensuous and passionate. A lovely story from start to finish.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is PHYSICAL THERAPY? (smile) January 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is one of those love stories that is fun to fantasize about but is totally unrealistic. It has the harlequin romance feel to it which means it is a fun escape, but not stellar literature. It was also a bit long with the constant character's inner dialogue refusing to believe their fling was LOVE.

So,the classic womanizer finally finds the ONE who will make him change all his ways and stay forever true to just her. Simon Vittorio is rich, handsome and Italian. He first sees Lilly at a friend's birthday and has an instant attraction for her, but doesn't get a chance to speak to her as she hurriedly leaves. After six months of trying to find her, Simon is in a car accident that leaves him temporary blind and without the use of his legs. His sister finds him a therapist who happens to be Lilly and she nurses him back to health while falling for him. He knows it is Lilly, the girl from the party when he first hears her voice and sets out to seduce her into falling in love with him. Lilly knows she should not let her heart set on such a womanizer, but she does any way then refuses to believe his intentions towards her are more than a fling. Simon wants her to declare her love for him first and this leads to misunderstanding and games of jealousy.

The beginning was quiet slow, the ending predictable and the misunderstanding go on forever, but I did like the characters and for a free download it was a fine diversion. And you gotta love the cover!

Would I/Did I buy it? Free Download
Would I read it again? No
Would I recommend it to friends? Sure
