The bass is pretty powerful for a lil subwoofer.

Still, the sound bar was very good but I would highly recommend grabbing the one with the sub.

Then the next week he called and said I would get a full refund AND the item FREE.

I just picked this up today and had it running on my TV in minutes. Very simple set up and great sound for half of what you would expect to pay for a Sound Bar with Subwoofer. Great for someone that is looking for an upgrade to the sound. Vizio is the best at giving premium product at moderate pricing!

I bought these as a substitute for my tv speakers. I did not have high expectations as this setup was fairly cheap, and it is not hard to improve over stock tv speakers. As far as sound quality goes, this thing gets the job done. My only gripe is that the remote seems to have a 'mind of it's own'. Rewind back to my third night with this system. It is 2:30 am and a few buddies and are in the middle of a heated bf3 match. I went to turn the volume down using the remote (it was slightly too loud, I didn't want to catch any wife aggro. Instead of simply lowering the volume, the remote instead turns the volume to ALL THE WAY UP. At 2:30 am. The remote has done this 5 times since that incident, all of which leave me scrambling across the coffee table to pull out the audio cables before it gets too loud.

My 2 cents would be to get the sub settings configured using the remote (this is the only way to adjust those settings) then just put it in a drawer, which happens to be the fate of my remote. All the rest of the functionality of the unit can be accessed using the buttons on top of the sound bar.

All that being said, this was worth 150 dollars, and matches my vizio tv perfectly. I feel that I did indeed get what I paid for.

This sound bar is not bad for the price. I know I could get better sound for more money, but the area I'm using this in does not need theater quality audio. For a small area, this works just fine.

Nice 2.1 sound quality but had problems with connections; not as simple as stated.
I connected this to my VZIO 32 inch TV; purchased 2011.
The sound bar manufacture start date was 2012 (notice 1 year later than the TV purchase.)
The sound bar only has Analog input (RCA type connector).
The TV only has Digital output (Optical cable).
I had to buy a Digital to Analog Adapter.
Go figure? Why, a year later, does VZIO produce a sound bar that doesn't work with their TV?

Review Update- June 23, 2014- I recommend DO NOT PURCHASE from EA Electronics.
They sent me a previously used unit and promised to replace it with a new unit.
I originally ordered the unit on May 7 and received it May 13. I immediately noticed that the unit was previously sold/used and repackaged and it doesn't switch inputs properly.
I called EA Electronics (Alan)and he said they would replace it. The process dragged on with Amazon and EA Electronics until June 23, 2014 when, at Amazon's recommendation, I filed an A to Z Amazon complaint.
In summary:
Box re-taped.
On the remote, the battery protection tab was missing.
The owner's manual is missing.
The unit works intermittently when switching the inputs (1 and 2). I suspect this is why the item was previously returned to seller.

I bought this sound bar and a larger one from this dealer 10 months ago. The remote for this one stopped working a month ago. We contacted Vizio and they tried to talk us through fixing the problem and in the process the entire sound bar stopped working. They said it was still under warranty, mail them a proof of purchase, and they would send us a new sound bar. Then, next day after receiving our proof of purchase they called and said this dealer was not authorized to sell their product and therefore the manufacturer warranty was void. I e-mailed the dealer and they responded stating they had a 30-day return policy. I replied asking if they knew where/how we could get replacement parts (e.g. remote), but they did not respond.

Morale of the story - if you buy from this dealer and the product breaks after day 30, you're out of luck as far as any warranty from the manufacturer or assistance from the dealer. I've bought several products from them, but will buy no more.

I bought this soundbar to use as my PC sound system. My PC is in the bedroom and is occationally used for watching movies. The sound quality isn't going to satisfy an audiophile but it better than most PC speaker fare and would be a great addtion to a smaller (32" or so) LCD TV. The sub woofer is lacking in power but i didn't expect it to perform like a proper 10"+ sub with it's 5.25" woofer. This having been said it isn't bad by any means. It has been great for movies and music is a mixed bag. Over-all it is good. I'd be a lot happier if it had an optical input.

Pros:
Inexpensive ($100+ cheaper than the 5.1 version)
Loud enough for PC or TV use
Smaller size that the 40" bar on the 5.1 setup
Includes sub for not much more money than the soundbar alone.
Elaborite sound system for a PC.

Cons:
2 inputs (RCA and 3.5 mm jack)
No optical input
Sub should be larger / more powerful.
Propretory plug on the Sub output making using your own sub a custom affair.

If you don't want to go with the 5.1 setup, this is not a bad option. I will probably pick up the 5.1 kit with the wireless sub for my livingroom TV for both the 5.1 surround and the bigger sub.
