Can't understand others ratings,

I bought these speakers based on reviews of BIC's excellent reviews of other models. This being their higher-end model I thought should be even better. Well, the speakers came with one that when I picked up out of the box I could hear something shifting. When I played them the speakers sounded terrible(obviously broken). The other one sounded adequate at best. I compared them to my Klipsch surround sat's which blew them away. Also, the Klipsch list and sale prices were much cheaper, although they are indoor only. I don't know if others benchmarch speakers are nonexistant or that poor but I also have Rega and Boston Acoustics which are both way better although they are towers and aren't a fair comparison. I guess what bothers me most is that these list for $450 and their fit and finish besides their sound only deserves a $50-$100 price.
