4.0 out of 5 stars Pendragon VS Odysseus, May 2, 2000

This review is from: VOYAGE OF TERROR (Grailquest, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is part of the Grailquest series, and it's a roleplaying game were the reader is supposed to be the hero. In each of the books of the series, you're playing the role of a young adventurer whose name is Pip, saving King Arthur's kingdom. In this specific adventure, you must prevent a Saxon invasion, but Merlin somehow missed a spell and you find yourself trapped in the Greek mythic ages... Weird, isn't it? Well, J.H. Brennan vision of the round table is a twisted and amusing one, somewhere between the original round table legends and Monty Python's Holy Grail, which makes this book (and all the others in the Grailquest series) very enjoyable. I discovered Voyage of Terror when I was 10 (I'm now 24) but I think it's still worth the read, especialy if you like fantasy and Terry Pratchett's sense of humor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally, the complete series, November 14, 2009

This review is from: VOYAGE OF TERROR (Grailquest, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
Grailquest may not be the most complex or fairest gamebook series out there, but it's certainly the most entertaining. I enjoyed these books in my lower elementary days and still find them a hoot now.

Book 4 was just impossible to find, and I'm happy to finally have it in my collection. It's not the best in the eight, true, but it's still a fun read and won't disappoint Grailquest fans.

I got my copy from International Books and am quite pleased with its condition: no dog ears, major creases, or stains.
