Adaptor does not accept standard US plugs,

I WOULD AVOID THIS PRODUCT. This US to Australia three prong adapter will NOT accept a standard US two blade polarized plug. FYI, that is the standard plug where the left side neutral blade is slightly bigger than the right side blade. Just about every US wall outlet made in the last forty years is designed to accept polarized plugs, but not this adapter. This product is completely useless for me, and for just about anyone who wants to plug in a two prong AC to DC converter (think laptop power pack, digital camera battery charger, electric toothbrush charger etc...)

One worked, one didn't.,

I got the adapters and one of them seemed slightly odd. it looked like it wasn't cut correctly (The prongs were slightly jagged and longer than the other one.) I tried to stick with the first one (which looked normal) but was forced to use the weird one when both my Laptop and Cell Phone needed to be charged. Upon plugging the weird one in, there was a big spark and the outlet started smoking. Now the outlet does not work. I would try buying from another seller.

Simply put, this is a very cheap, very horribly designed and built adapter. Spend the extra money on a universal adapter that has a warranty. I bought to plug my computer into outlets while traveling in Australia. The first night it was ever used, it shorted out the power to our room and 3 others on the hall in the hotel (Intercontinental Sydney). Had the maintenance man test it using his multimeter and all 3 plugs were shorted to each other. Spent $35 and bought the adapter the InterCon sold from their room service offerings and it worked great. So, long story short, very dangerous. Could start a fire. Could cause serious damage to electrical equipment. Better used as a paper weight than as an adapter. Very poor build quality and QA.

Plug for Argentina was not correctly made. Each time we plugged it into the wall plug it tripped a circuit breaker in the apartment. Another adapter supplied by the apartment owner functioned properly. Completely unsatisfactory. Threw the faulty adapter away as didn't want to carry it throughout Argentina.

For our first trip to Australia, we were a little bewildered about everything we would need to keep all our devices functioning. This adapter worked perfectly for everything from laptop to cell phone to camera battery.

I've order 2 of these adapters (so far) and they have both worked well. I must have a slightly newer version that some of the other reviewers as my adapter accepts polarized cords. I combined this adapter with the SM-60 Universal 3 Outlet Power Strip and to this day haven't had any issues.

Perfect for my trip to Australia. Assuming you already have a power converter (and this is the standard part of every laptop dc adapter, you're good to go.

I coupled this with my trusty 4-outlet travel power strip, and it was all I needed to charge up all my goodies while I traveled through Oz. Cheaper than the stuff they sell in airports.
