I thought I'd try one of these aftermarket batteries because the B&D batteries are expensive, plus this battery boasts a higher amp-hour rating. Performance-wise, the battery seems fine, although I've only used it once and that was for a short period. The biggest problem I had was that the battery was a little too big for the charger and the tool I used it in. I managed to cram it in the charger, but to get it out, the silver end cap got pulled off. The same thing happened in the tool. I've glued the cap on better, so hopefully I won't have that problem again, but the battery size is still an issue.

These batteries are considerably cheaper than the Black & Decker Gold are, but simply do not fit in my charger or my vacuums. Pay the extra money and buy the brand name ones.

I just received two VP100 replacement batteries sold by this company. Neither battery will fit my original Black and Decker dual battery charger nor my Black and Decker cordless screwdriver or Wizard rotatory tool. They are two big in circumference. I am sending them back immediately and demanding a full refund! DON'T BUY THIS BATTERY!!!

Replaced sears screwdriver battery. Works good with long life but tight fitting in both the tool and the charger. Have to use pliers to remove from tool. But that ok for me since I have my tool back!

Well the battery cost about 10 dollars and I thought paying the 10 was better than buying a whole new battery-powered screwdriver. And it probably was, though I don't use the tool much to begin with. I was able to charge the battery, try it out, and now (again) have it handy for those occasional cases when I have to screw something for such a long time that I could use some extra juice...
