Best Low Glycemic Protein Bar on the Market....., November 11, 2010
You're reading a review from the King of Nutrition Bars. You name the bar, I've tried it. I guarantee it. I'm not impressed with 98% of the bars on the market. To me, bars fall into four negative categories, and a bar either has all of them, or a combination of the 4:
1) Coating is so sweet that it can make your teeth ache.
2) Tons of chemicals and artificial ingredients that are non-foods.
3) Has old school sweeteners like sugar, corn syrup, or high fructose corn syrup in them, which is AWFUL for the body.
4) Poor texture. Either too crunchy, too chewy, or "too" something else.
Zero Impact Bars....
1) Coating is perfect. Subtle sweetness, but won't cause tooth problems or cavities.
2) Very natural bar with a lot of good real food ingredients. Only "chemicals" are a few preservatives.
3) Sweetened with Brown Rice Syrup (which some say is the best sweetener out there), and erythritol (which is a safe, non-toxic, natural sweetener).
4) Texture is great. Semi-soft, great on the palate. They're a little dry, so you do need 12-16 oz of water per bar, but other than that, perfect.
I love these bars for so many reasons. Low sugar, low glycemic, high quality protein, natural ingredients, and the Pumpkin Supreme Bar tastes unbelievable! I used to be big on "raw food" bars, since they're the "healthiest", but after discovering 3 new cavities (which I KNOW are from those bars), I now recommend these over the raw food bars.
Great, great product, and unfortunately, the Vitamin Shoppe stopped carrying them, so now I buy them online.

Best Bar on the Market, December 16, 2010
I bought these bars after reading an interview with Ryan Reynolds. He mentioned he incorporated these bars into his diet when training for his role in The Green Lantern. Obviously he has a good body, so I decided to give these a try when I started my training. The taste is great (for a protein bar). Most importantly, these don't give me gas like many other bars on the market. I know this is gross, but most added protein can cause some digestive problems. I haven't experienced any of that with these bars.
Other reviewers have mentioned this, but it's worth noting that they are a little dry. Just be sure to have some water with the bar.
You will be full after finishing one of the bars, oftentimes it might take a little while to eat the whole thing. I usually will have one for lunch and snack on it throughout the afternoon hours to maintain fullness and keep me from grabbing nearby snacks.
Anyway, they worked for me and they seem to have worked for Ryan Reynolds, too!

My Protein Bar of Choice, October 22, 2010
If you are looking for a meal replacement bar or simply want to supplement your protein intake, you should take a serious look at VPX's Zero Impact high protein meal bars. I have done my research and sampled many bars out there, but keep coming back to these Pumpkin bars. Why? Well, the flavor is better than most. The can be slightly dry so I suggest having something to drink on hand, but otherwise they are a pleasure to eat and are VERY filling. At 440 calories each, they better be! I usually eat half a bar as a snack or use it as a meal replacement, so the calories are not a big worry. What is great is that they are formulated to have minimal impact on your blood sugar so they actually help curb your hunger and maintain a good level of energy--thus helping you lose weight and maintain lean muscle mass, if that is what you are after. They contain fats, but they are the right fats, and in the proper ratio to protein for optimal assimilation by the body. The Pumpkin flavor actually has the healthiest combination of ingredients of all the Zero Impact bars and in my opinion, the best flavor.
I am currently taking part in a "Biggest Loser" competition at my workplace. I've started exercising more and modified my diet, making these Pumpkin Bars an integral part of it. We've just completed the third week and I'm currently in the lead with just over 12 pounds lost, almost 6% of my total body weight. I wouldn't say I am (or was) overweight, but I could stand to drop some belly and love handle fat. Obviously all of this loss is not due to the Zero Impact bars, but I'm certain they are helping. For anyone looking to lose weight or gain lean muscle, you have nothing to lose by incorporating these into your diet. Buy a box and the per-bar breakdown is just over two dollars. That's really not bad if you think of what you would pay for a healthy meal. Of all the Protein Bars on the market (Clif, Pure Protein, PowerBar, Met-Rx) this is the only one I would give a solid five star rating.
