3.0 out of 5 stars Typos, bad formatting, and missing graphics, July 10, 2011

The editor, designer, and proofreader must all have been on vacation. Formatting is bad and inconsistent. Sometimes an illustration is missing that that throws off references for the rest of the chapter. The information is good, but you'll have to work harder than necessary to read it.

URLs for test files don't work and the link to a page that's supposed to contain the code from the book leads to a 404.

After reading a library copy of the book, I bought one but only because I couldn't find anything else on the subject.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless ... Not much more than an Overview, March 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: VSTO For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)) (Paperback)
If you're trying to develop VSTO Add-Ins ... don't bother with this book ... complete waste of time and money. It provides a VERY, VERY high level overview of VSTO that might (say again might) be OK for a manager trying to understand what developers might do. But, there is really nothing in the book useful for actual development of an VSTO Add-In. (For those unfamiliar with Visual Studio Tools for Office ... an Add-In is essentially an application that embedded within an Office product like Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
