You get what you pay for,

I have had this phone for about a year and a half. It's not a bad phone, works solidly, and you can't beat the price. Would I get it now? Definitely not. My issues with this phone:
1) Button response is slow (Can't press "on" and immediately dial a number, for instance). 2) No voice mail indicator. 3) No headset speakerphone. 4) Unit ships with NiCd battery, which dies faster than you can sneeze. I bought a NiMH battery from Staples and it's been fine ever since. 5) Looks aren't as nice as some other phones, it's also a bit larger and heavier than most. 6) Range could be better.

Reception is terrible - lots of interference. Battery life is just awful. Lasted about 1.5 hrs when first bought, now, 4 months later, lasts 30 min. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

This review is from: VTech 20-2438 2-Line 2.4GHz Speakerphone with Caller ID (Office Product)
I bought this phone for my home office. I had a Panasonic I really liked, but it was lacking a mute button. Since I work from home, I spend quite alot of time on conference calls, using the speakerphone. I wanted to have a mute button so I could do things while listening. The speakerphone on this phone is AWFUL. It fades in and out, making it virtually impossible to hear what's going on, even with maximum volume. Don't waste your money!
