5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
The Double Vision is definitely the way to go. When we first opened it and set it up independent of the TV, we were not impressed. After hooking it up to the TV, it really came alive and has been a lot of fun for our kids. Our kids, being 3 & 4, have a little bit of trouble navigating some of the games, but it's going to be a great toy for them to grow with. I would...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great with TV Link-not so good without the link.
The VTech-Double Vision Notebook is an good toy if you link it to your TV. If you just use it on it's own, it is very limited as to the "programs" available. My grand-daughter became very bored within a short period of time with this lap-top---then we hooked it up to the TV and she was thrilled. Lots of fun stuff. I bought this so she could play with it on road trips...

Our kids, being 3 & 4, have a little bit of trouble navigating some of the games, but it's going to be a great toy for them to grow with. I would definitely recommend this product as a TV arcade type game, but not as a stand-alone laptop toy.

...and she loved it! It is very educational and fun. She was thrilled to have her own "laptop". The only drawback, is, that to trully enjoy the games, it MUST be hooked to the television. The screen on the laptop, is small, black and white, and very hard to see, and read the writing. Now my 5 year old Grandson wants one for Christmas next year!

anyone thinking to buy this may want to check the Vtech website first

there is also a carrying bag you can get....

That said I love getting this for my 8 year old nephew with ADHD; he can focus better on these and learn. His grades are so good now that I get him VTech products. Not a substitue for sitting with your kid and making sure he has his homework done, but as a great supplement when you want him to play and yet learn. He really likes it. I am starting with Touch Tablet and then going to "upgrade" to this once he understands how to use it. Luckily the price I have paid for both were similar, and I have not paid over @125 to have both (hint hint).....total! Anything to not have a kid on mindless video games or TV all day and to help their lil brains.

My grand-daughter became very bored within a short period of time with this lap-top---then we hooked it up to the TV and she was thrilled. Lots of fun stuff. I bought this so she could play with it on road trips and during hospital visits (she has juvenile rheumatiod arthritis) however it will not be useful for these times. I would not have bought this if I had known the limited use without the TV. I am glad that she is able to enjoy it at her home and mine.

I bought this product for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas and she loved it. We spent hours playing with it on Christmas day. She felt like a grown-up and it keeps her from wanting to play with my laptop and potentially deleting things that shouldn't be deleted. This toy is very educational and durable (she dropped it after about 30 minutes and it didn't affect it at all). It's also pretty cool because it has a finger mouse pad (or whatever you call it) and that makes it feel more like a real laptop. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a very realistic laptop (although I can't wait till they come out with one that has a full-sized color screen).

5.0 out of 5 stars Grand Daughters Delight, January 18, 2008

I purchased this for my grand daughter for christmas. She has seen us with our laptops and she wanted one. I bought this one for her so she would feel like she had a laptop, but she also needed help in school on different subjects. When I received it I was impressed, it is no light weight laptop, this is really durable. It really feels like a laptop to. The programs in this are fantastic. She has learned to run this like a pro. It was easy to use and simple to understand for a 7 year old. Everyday after school, she sits with this and I don't think she realizes she is learning as she plays. There is alot to keep a child entertained. Even we sit with her and watch and play, we like it as well.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas and she really enjoys it. She takes it on trips and plays with it almost every day. There are lots of fun learning games on the computer and it has even more if you hook it up to your TV. This was her favorite present. Money well spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars great value, nice laptop, very happy, January 13, 2008

This is a nice laptop, my child although only 4 still gets alot of use and enjoyment out of it, it is realistic looking and operates like a real one, and feels like a real one, plugging it in to the tv is icing on the cake. Lots of activities stored in the computer mostly educational, then plus the added games that come with it makes all that much better. I did alot of research before buying one, to me my research paid off with this one. I myself at 30 years young actually enjoys sitting down and playing with it, my child gets a kick out of it. You will not be sorry with this laptop.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Educational Toy, January 11, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: VTech - Double Vision Notebook (Toy)
This is a nice toy, but the age group is a little off. We bought this for a pretty advanced six year old and he has only found a few things that he could really do, but he'll have plenty of things to do over the next five years or so. The only complaint we have is that the screen is not backlit, but you can easily hook it up to the TV and see it very well. He was very excited to have a "real" laptop with a real mouse to be just like Daddy.
