Vtech - Bouncing Colors Turtle

You would have to double the recommended weight limit to make the turtle bounce we're taking this back and getting the Fisher Price Zebra. The toy also does not spin as the box indicates without considerable force. Nice music though.

My neighbor has the Fisher Price item, but I thought it was too expensive so I bought this one. Since my daughter played with both I can compare:

Pros:
Price
Fun, songs and educational aspects

Cons:
Base - the FP has a stronger and wider base - so it is more stable. At some point my daughter was bouncing back and forth and the thing almost tilted.
Bounce - the FP has more bounce than this one. This one still bounces but it is a little bit harder (maybe because it is new)


It is not a waist of mine but if you can afford the FP item I would advise people to do so. My daughter enjoys it, but she likes the FP item better.

My son received this as a christmas gift and he cannot make it bounce. He weighs 30 pounds and should easily make this work, but we have to bounce him on it.

The boys kept trying to move the Turtles. Would have been a great option if they had of come with wheels. Otherwise they where colorful, good music - well worth the buy. Thanks

Although I'm tired of the music on this toy, my son loves it! Great toy for an active toddler but must warn u boys figure out you can use it to climb to higher places! Lol!

I'm kind of disappointed in this toy. It's too light weight that when my child bounces she sometimes lifts it off the floor. Not sure how far it turns it's very hard to just swivel to each side - maybe that's what it's suppose to do. As for being educational, I'd say not much. The Fisher price Zebra my niece has is much better! It's more sturdy, etc. I think this one is priced too high for the quality of the product. I bought it b/c I liked the giraffe stationary bike and thought I would like this too but I don't.

My daughter loves this turtle. She's always sitting on it, and trying to bounce. She's 2, and her legs aren't quite long enough yet. Most of the time she ends up rocking back and forth, which doesn't seem to bad for toy. She's able to pick it up and carry it around the house to where ever she wants it to be, which I think is kind of nice. She loves to push the buttons, which light up, and there are two rolly turny things on the handle that she loves as well.

Pros:
- lots of different songs.
- goes over colors and shapes.
- Easy to put together out of the box, no tools needed.
- Volume setting.

Cons:
- The shapes printed on the buttons are rather small.
- It continues to make noise for about a minute after she's done bouncing on it. Very annoying!

Overall it's fun for kids, and mildly educational. I think it's my lease favorite of my daughter's noise making toys just because it continues to make noise after she's off it.

We received this a year ago so we've had a decent amount of time to use it. It's okay. The bounce isn't very bouncy, like other reviewers said but my daughter still seems to get a kick out of it. The interactive bits on the handles aren't anything I'd write home about, but again dear daughter isn't complaining. I did find it to be pretty sturdy though. She's not a crazy bouncer but the kid actually stood up on it once and that sucker didn't tip.

What scared the ever loving crap out of me was the fact that this thing starts giggling on its own when it's running out of batteries. There's nothing creepier than hearing that female giggle in the middle of the night when you're entire house is asleep. NOT COOL VTECH! As the battery ran down more it would giggle more and more and changed from being creepy to just annoying. You can only hear that friendly giggle so many times before you want to poke yourself in the eye just to have something else to think about. I kept turning it off but sweet pea daughter would turn it on and then walk away. So it was a constant "gotcha last" game of who could get the switch and leave it.

I know, I know. Just change the batteries! I did eventually and learned my lesson and there was no need to bring in psychics or priests.

We bought this toy for our son for christmas last year (he was 15mnths) because he loves turtles. I didn't put it together right away because he had gotten so many toys and he wasn't quite old enough for this one yet. once I did assemble it he refused to sit on it but by pressing on it with my hands I could tell he would not be able to get this to bounce. he likes the music and spining the little things on the handles but once he did sit on it i was right, it DOES NOT BOUNCE! it turns slightly but definalty doesnt spin. I love vtech and am so diapointed by this product.

Ive been looking at this toy for a long time for my baby girl(11mo) cause she gets bored very fast and easily and its really hard to find anything she likes long enough, well we went to Walmart and this is usually almost $40 well they marked it down to 19.99 and I'm soooo glad they did and I didn't have to pay full price for this because it is NOT worth it, your just paying for a Brand. My daughter loves it but it isn't that big nor is there much to it. It was scratched and the yellow stand on one side looked melted in..None of this effected the toys overall use and she loves it so in the end that's what matters but I would definitely wait till it goes down or go to Walmart and get it for $20 definitely not worth more than that. Like I said- does the job but not worth more than $20 anything after that is the brand!
