Great fun toy!

This toy sings the same song over and over again, which the baby seems to like but grates on dad's nerves.

We bought this adorable kitty toy for our granddaughter's first birthday. She likes it, but not as much as we thought she might, but of course she's not old enough to tell us what she thinks about it......as for people hearing the word, "rape," well, I was surprised at that....we never heard the toy as saying anything other than "chase" and "race" and kitty speaks more clearly than a lot of people we have to deal with on a daily basis.....there is absolutely no "p" sound to be heard at all. Sometimes it seems like some people are always looking for what they can find wrong with everything and half the time, that in itself is what is wrong with this world in general.

My daughter got this for her first birthday, SHE LOVED IT! It has a sensor on the back and front so it dosnt bump into things and it spins around when it gets near an object (like a roomba), plays music (gets annoying, but she likes it so you can just tune out the music like on every other kids toy you have). Not very educational, but she she had fun chasing it around the house.... that is, she had fun for the two days it worked. As with anything, toddlers pick up there toys, and then usually drop or throw them. my daughter dropped this on the carpet twice, and it started to not work properly, started "stuttering" and freezeing. She dropped it on the hardwood once, and it stopped working all together. You would THINK they would make these more durable since they are intended for toddlers. I am so bummed, but I am not going to be buying another just for it to break.
The voice even says "chase me" and when you pick it up it says "weeeeeee" so the designers knew that little kids would be roughousing with it, so it ought to be more durable.
Too bad, cuz untill it broke, she really had fun with it. Dont waste your money.

I almost missed out on a great toy from reading all the negative comments about this toy. My 1 year old twin nieces loved this toy from the moment I took it out of the box. They were laughing and chasing after this cute little cat. I love the fact that this toy turns around on its own if it get trapped into a corner. It was fun watching my nieces play nonstop with this toy. It also tired them out lol! I did not hear anything alarming in the song. I am so glad I bought this toy. This toy was well worth it.

My daughter got this for Christmas from a friend. The sensors are not low enough if it bumps into... say... a rug or something else low to the ground and it just kept giggling and saying to catch it. Then my kid decided she was tired of chasing it on carpet, not making it a worthy adversary. So she started to push it around like a toy car. Now it doesn't want to go anywhere, and the music skips around. Im not sure why. Im kinda glad its dying though. Ill just have to sneek it out of the bedroom before shes awake tomorrow morning.

The mechanisms underneath should be a bit more durable and withstand more abuse.

Although my 13 month old finds this toy entertaining, it will get stuck repeating the same thing over and over. "Here I come, I'm on the run!" Seriously it will repeat that 50 times in a row. It started doing this after about 3 days of playing with it. It no longer moves like it did the first half hour of play. Save your money!

I got this for my Grandson (for our house) We have hardwood floors and it works great. He was a bit afraid of kitty at first, because it moves all by itself. But now its his first toy to grab when he visits. We got it a year ago, while he was still crawling and he still loves it.He is 19 months old now.

We got this toy for Christmas for our son, only to have everyone in the room gasp when the kitty started singing "Chase me, Race me". The S's and C's are not well heard on ours, so it sounds like she is singing "Cha me, rape me". I'm going to contact V-Tech and let them know. I don't think this is intentional by any means, but our kitty is not a very good kitty for him.

Since my 7 month old started crawling like crazy, I had high hopes for her being able to chase after this toy and have fun with it, but I was disappointed in many ways. It is a very cute cat and the concept of it is great, but the execution of the concept sucks. It has a sensor in the back and front to prevent it from running into things, but this thing runs into every obstacle and gets stuck, so the sensors are faulty. When he does move, it's just in short bursts and my baby only has to crawl two inches to catch up to it, so it's also very slow and there's not much "chase" to it.

There are 3 colored buttons on the side of the cat numbered 1-3 and when you press them in the "learn" mode, it says the number or the name of the shape once and plays an annoying song, but if you press the buttons before the song ends, it doesn't do anything. In the "chase" mode, when you press these buttons, it doesn't say anything AT ALL! Basically, there's no educational value to this toy and my daughter gets bored with it in about 3-4 minutes. She loves the meowing but that's about it...he'll end up in the bottom of the toy bin for sure.
