5.0 out of 5 stars Granddaughter Loves It!
I purchased this for my granddaughter's 6th birthday over a month ago. She plays with it everyday and brings it with her instead of her gameboy. She really enjoys learning with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars not for up to age 11
I bought this for a 9 year old, but this laptop is definitely for a younger age...even thought it is marketed for 5-11. I would say 5 to 7 max.

We were excited to give this to our 5 year old for his birthday. After opening he loved the design and having his own cool looking notebook computer and was very excitied. However the screen is very disappointing. I can't even rate the games because overall I simply just can't see what is on it. The product is relatively useless in a dark environment and dissapointing. I should have gone to a toys r us and actually compared the product to other simular products. I would suggest anyone do the same prior to buying it.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor screen quality, September 5, 2006

My kids are used to playing games on a computer so the screen was very disappointing. It is very poor quality, but perhaps that is why it is so inexpensive. I wish I had taken the advice of some other viewers and gone to a store to see it in person. I will be trying to sell mine again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps not for kids 6 and over......, January 17, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

...this is not what I'd thought it'd be. Screen is a bit dark, although that's not the main problem. The main issue is that my daughter's almost 7 and she's bored with this already. Frankly, you'd be better off with small, hand-held puzzle gadgets. For kids 5 and younger, this would be of benefit.

3.0 out of 5 stars not for ages listed, November 17, 2005
This review is from: Vtech - Nitro Notebook (Toy)
The description said this was for ages 6-11, however according to the manual, the math was addition and subtraction, and there was only basic reading. Seems it would only be for up to grade 2 tops.

4.0 out of 5 stars FOR 4&5 year olds, January 14, 2007
This review is from: Vtech - Nitro Notebook (Toy)
I bought this for my 8 year old and he only likes the typing part, since he is learning how to type in school. But the rest of the games and learning activities are way to Easy for him. It mostly involves learning your letter, number, how to count prefect for my 4 years old and 5 year old, but not much of a challange for my 8 yr old. I would recommend it for kids under 6 years of age.

And the screen is way to small, sometimes it is hard to see the screen if there is not enough light in the room.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gift that keeps giving, March 14, 2006
This review is from: Vtech - Nitro Notebook (Toy)
I purchased this activity notebook for my granddaughter who has scheduled a thirty minute session each night after dinner. It was her request, by the way. I like the fact that it tracks progress and has levels of difficulty that will keep her attention for years to come. As a bonus, her little brother can use it as well when he is old enough. I predict its usefulness in their household for at least the next twelve years. Its the best gift I've ever purchased for a child.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK, February 1, 2007
This review is from: Vtech - Nitro Notebook (Toy)
My 5 year old plays with this lap top quite a bit, but is already getting bored with the games it came with. The graphics are disappointing, and the voice is too baby-like. I am also disappointed that we are not able to purchase any additional cartridges, which means that it is going to be obsolete in just a couple of months. Too bad!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good toy for kids a bit irritating for parents, July 27, 2007
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars

I bought my daughter this laptop because she wanted one to play games on (she's 6). So when it came in she was so excited. She loved it from day 1 which is great but the sounds it makes can drive an adult crazy. We own several kids' laptops but I do have to admit that this one is my kids favorite.
