Key features include any-key answer (which saves time in answering when you're in danger of missing a call), backlit keypad and display, mute, 2.5 mm headset compatibility for hands-free conversations, and visual message waiting indication (VMWI), which alerts you to waiting messages.
Digital spread spectrum technology uses a wider bandwidth than standard 900 MHz transmission, casting the data that makes your conversations across multiple frequency points and at greater power than do traditional cordless phones. This increases your phone's range, enhances its immunity to noise and interference, and heightens its ability to prevent eavesdropping.
You can station the handset just about anywhere in your home. It communicates through the base unit (required, sold separately), functions as a speakerphone, and allows communication with other v2600 handsets. It also offers programmable ringer types.
What's in the Box
Handset, belt clip, AC power supply, one rechargeable handset battery, user's manual, warranty information
Note: This handset is not a stand-alone phone; it requires a VTech v2656 or v2651 base unit, sold separately.

VTech v2600 Handset for v2656 and v2651,

This review is from: VTech v2600 Accessory Handset for v2656 and v2651 Expandable Phones (Office Product)
The phone arrived in about 5 days and was new as stated (it is an old phone model from @ 2003). The original system came with 4 handsets. I bought it to replace 1 which was lost, and 2 which have deteriorated in sound (hearing) quality recently. The original system worked great for about 7 years. Unfortunately, it did not work with my system which is the one listed, the Vtech v2656. And, because the model is so old, they discontinued support for it on the VTech website. If it was compatible, as stated, I would have rated it a 5.

This did not work on our phone system even though it stated it would. This system is no longer supported by the manufacturer.

I have had VTech phones for quite a while. I needed another handset, so I looked for the V Tech that matched my phone system. It works well, and the sound is excellent.
