Goodbye Telemarketers, Hello peace and quiet!,

This review is from: VTech 2528 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with TeleZapper and Caller ID (Office Product)
It really works! As a homeowner with a two month old, we'd finally had enough of those irritating "unknown" callers. Everyone was selling everything! The Telezapper stopped the phone calls with "no one on the line", the hang ups, and the solictations (let the answering machine pick up & they get ZAPPED!). We saw a difference within a few days and were so pleased! It is reducing those computer dialed calls every day! This is a winner in our home and we've purchased them for Christmas gifts!!! BYE BYE SOLICITORS! More time for baby and peace & quiet!

This phone is great! Not only does it "zap" computer-generated telemarket calls, but it lets you know when you have messages on your voice mail with a flashing red light on the base. The display is bright and very easy to read and the directory and memory dial are easy to program. Only one complaint - you cannot hang the base on the wall, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Would I recommend this phone? Absolutely!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: VTech 2528 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with TeleZapper and Caller ID (Office Product)
I purchased this phone on February 25, 2003 based SOLELY on the reviews by current owners on Amazon.com, so I decided to give this little V-Tech a chance, but I now understand why I use products I have had experience with in the past.THE PROS: The color is unique (Champagne) THE CONS: 2. If illumination matters, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PHONE! The keypad does not illuminate in the dark and the keypad beeps are too loud! 3. The caller ID records #'s without the "1" in front of the number. I only mention this, because if you are used to Panasonic phones you know that you can redial a number from the caller id list directly because the place holder "1" is already there. I have also noticed this problem in many other V-Tech phones. They tend to pick up other conversations 4. My biggest PEEVE with this phone, is the fact that during a call there is static. The calls are not crystal clear at all. I avoided purchasing V-Tech phones in the past because I have known this to be common with them. Changing the channels is annoying too, because it briefly interrupts the call to "SCAN" the area only to find more static. I hope this explanation is helpful...I research purchasing phones quite often, and the only reason why this phone received 2 stars is because of the TeleZapper feature. Which I didn't really have the opportunity to take advantage of. HAPPY PHONE HUNTING!!

I bought this phone after reading a lot of reviews from various sources. So far (after four weeks), I am quite pleased with my purchase. The clarity is fine, even when I'm near my computer equipment and microwave. And I've gone into the yard without any degradation in signal. The battery lasts all day, and I keep it off the cradle all day. And finally, yes, the Telezapper does work. I've noticed a decrease in the number of telemarketing calls in the month I've owned this phone. My two cents...

I'm really happy with this phone. It's sleek, the reception is clear, and I think it's working in cutting down on telemarketing calls. I've had no problems with it. I really like the readout display, and it's easy to program. My boyfriend just ordered one too.

Too much static,

Tried two different one. Took the first one back because of poor reception. Got another, same problem. Walked 25 feet away from the base, and arond a corner and got nothing but static. Tried it in different phone jacks and got the same results.Going back to the drawing board.

The May Fly Phone,

This review is from: VTech 2528 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with TeleZapper and Caller ID (Office Product)
This phone has a vampiric quality of sucking the life force out of me, on top of from the power grid, and using it for a standout fifteen minute lifespan. It is the May fly of battery life, beautiful in its impermanance but useless as a telecommunications tool. Maybe it could be used as bait for an elusive trout.

Worth a try,

I bought this phone because while I liked the idea of the Telezapper and knew it worked, I had had poor luck with the plain Telezapper units that you plugged directly into your phone jack. My sister mentioned that she had this phone and liked it, so I figured it was worth a try.Like any phone, especially any *cordless* phone, it's not perfect. There are areas of my house where I don't get great reception. Also, if I use it very close to my computer, I lose my wireless network connection, though that *did* happen occasionally with the last cordless phone I had, also. I personally had no problems with my digital answering machine in relation to this phone, but that might be because it's hooked up to a different phone (but on the same phone line). I feel that the Caller ID, Call Waiting Caller ID, and speed dial options are more than satisfactory. Since there are such widely varying reviews of this phone, my advice to anyone who is interested in it is to go ahead and give it a try, because it might be just what you were looking for. If it isn't, I'm quite sure you can return it and get your money back.

Bad Battery; Terrible Telephone,
By A Customer
This review is from: VTech 2528 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with TeleZapper and Caller ID (Office Product)
I bought this phone from Amazon a few months ago. I had to turn off the Telezapper feature within a couple of weeks because it was so annoying and distracting to personal callers. The phone constantly picks up interference, I personally don't care for any of the ring options, and the battery just plain sucks. At a couple months old, a full night of charging is good for about 20 minutes of use before the thing starts beeping at me and cutting out parts of my conversation.Skip this piece of junk and sign up for your state's no-call list instead. |
