This thing is just a bad toy. A child that is old enough for the Smarty Pet to recognize what they are saying is too old to enjoy this toy. The technology is just not there yet to either be interesting to older kids or to recognize the speech of younger kids. I would not recommend this toy to anyone, your child will only be disappointed or bored.
