Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Combining a VTech v2656 2.4 GHz digital spread spectrum phone system with an additional model v2600 handset, the VTech v2660 can expand to meet your needs, accepting up to two more v2600 handsets (sold separately) for a total of four. As stylish as it is flexible, the v2660 comes loaded with a three-mailbox digital answering system, handset and base speakerphones, caller ID/call-waiting capability with 50-name-and-number memory, and a 50-name-and-number phone directory.

The VTech v2660 system requires only a single standard phone jack, and you can station additional handsets just about anywhere in your home. The included handsets and any optional handsets communicate through the base unit and can each function as a speakerphone; each also allows handset-to-handset communication and offers a programmable ringer.

Tired of hunting for the handset? A handy page/handset locator ensures that you'll never waste another minute tracking it down. Use the system's intercom feature to make conference calls, and take advantage of smart dialing from caller ID to call people back without having to enter their numbers. (Caller ID and call waiting require subscription through your local phone company.)

Other handy features include any-key answer, backlit keypad and display, mute, and a 2.5 mm headset jack for hands-free conversations (headset sold separately). Digital spread spectrum technology also provides clear sound; it uses a wider bandwidth than standard analog transmission and casts the data that encodes your conversations across multiple frequency points and at greater power than do traditional cordless phones. This increases your phone's range, enhances its immunity to noise and interference, and heightens its ability to prevent eavesdropping.

What's in the Box
Base station, remote charger stand, two handsets, two AC power supplies, two belt clips, two rechargeable handset battery packs, one telephone line cord, user's manual, warranty information

Very quality phone with many features. The only drawback is multiple steps just to view caller id log.

1.0 out of 5 stars Loses charge in under 5 minutes, July 27, 2006
This review is from: VTech v2660 2.4GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Additional Handset (Office Product)
i've had this set for one year and i just bought a 5.8 ghz Uniden 3 handset system to replace them. the phones would be on the charger for two weeks and after five minutes of use, the phone would beep low battery and die suddenly. it's really fun when you're on hold with tech support.

the wire mesh screen over the ear receiver scratches your ear. it's not comfortable at all.

Buy a Uniden set for $100 and you'll be much happier. This phone sucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, January 30, 2006
This review is from: VTech v2660 2.4GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Additional Handset (Office Product)
Our family was not happy with this phone.
It echoed which was very annoying.
The worst part was that it interfered with our DSL line. The nice thing about DSL is that family members can be on the computer and on the phone at the same time, but everytime someone picked up this VTech v2660 phone it shut down the DSL.
I sent back the phone to Amazon last Saturday and am happy that it was so easy to return without having to pay shipping costs.
