This review is from: VW Beetle, 1935-1967 GP (Gold Portfolio) (Paperback)
This book contains a huge set of articles and material collected from many car magazines an other publications about Beetle, from december 1935 to 1991, but only covering Beetles manufactured up to 1967. The style used to create page layouts reproduces the old magazines from which the material was collected, like you have cutted the original magazines and pasted it into the book - and it helps to create a "vintage air" to the readers. The index says from what magazine every material was collected, in a cronological order. For me, a brazilian VW Beetle enthusiast, this book helps to understand the Beetle evolution after World War II, and the many improvements made in the original project that helped VW to get a significant market share in Europe, Latin America, US, South Africa and specially here, in Brazil - just for the record, in 1975, seven in every ten cars were Beetles. The book covers from first german versions 'til for-export luxury Beetles - mixed with three decades of auto industry's history. If you want to have a great collection of stuff about the first Beetles, gathered from many magazines in a single book, to show to your VW club colleagues, you found it!
