There is No manual profile in which you can specify all of those settings to your tastes at once.

There seems to be ample reviews of this monitor for gaming and general use, but I was primarily deciding on this unit as a better monitor for doing photo editing with Photoshop and Lightroom and there were few reviews available. As a person who rarely 'games' on the PC, I am less concerned about refresh rates and ghosting and far more concerned about color accuracy and detail. Asus makes monitors which are probably more accurate (PA and perhaps the PB series) but they are more expensive and I wanted to stay below $300 if possible.

Pros:
* Let's face it - very sleek design! This is actually almost a twin of the MX series (some trade-offs for gamers) but this was $60 less expensive for the same AH-IPS screen.
* Colors look quite accurate and what you print looks almost identical in saturation and hue to what you see on the monitor. (I use the sRGB setting - the other settings would not be nearly as accurate for this use.)
* Sharpness: I was a bit concerned about stretching a 1960 x 1080 resolution across 27" and was tempted to stay with 24" based upon some reviews that stated that text was not sharp with this size and resolution. (The PA 24" product, for example, has 1960 x 1200 resolution. This is undoubtedly better, but it also costs about $50 more.) For my uses, the increased real estate of the 27" screen is a tremendous attribute and the sharpness is perfectly clear for text and is incredibly detailed for photo editing. If you earn your living from photo editing you may need something sharper and better, but if you are using this for anything but professional reasons, this should do the trick nicely!
* Quick and Easy Set-up: I am using an Asus laptop with Win 8.1, using an HDMI connection (cable is not included for HDMI!

I predominately game on my computer and bought this model to replace my 27 inch TN screen monitor. Wow the difference is like going from SD tv to HD tv. The color is so much more vibrant the contrast is so much better. For instance in Mass Effect 3 i noticed right away how the armor on myself and squadmates looked different and I thought somehow I had new armor with new colors but it was just the difference between a TN monitor and an IPS monitor. The colors are so more crisp and vibrant. I even noticed the difference with muzzle flashes in the game, you really notice the difference.

I don't know why I waited so long to switch but it is definitely worth it. Also I notice no lag or ghosting while playing FPS games. The only complaint I have is the settings buttons, it's kind of a pain to use. Not sure why companies don't keep it simple instead of trying to get too fancy. Other than that an excellent monitor for gaming. I could never go back to the washed out colors of a TN panel monitor.

Also even when web browsing and watching movies everything is so much clearer and vibrant. Also as a big props to Amazon, the day after I ordered this monitor the price dropped $40. I think they did this because Newegg had a special on the same monitor. So I contaced an Amazon rep that day and they gave me a $40 refund. Great job Amazon!

Why would you buy a TV when you can get this fantastic display? The color range and saturation are superb, motion is excellent, delay is non-existent. I bought this for gaming and movies and I'm happy on both fronts. Today's consumer televisions are a tremendous disappointment stacked up against this display. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again.

I bought this display looking for the best specifications that I could find around (DP, IPS, led, input lag, etc) But requiring it to perform on applications such as web browser, word processor, spreadsheet, pdf files Mostly. I have found that it is not the best display you can get not because of the specifications but because of constrains imposed by user accessible configurations.

(I'm giving it 2 stars for the text based applications performance, for videos and full screen pictures this display is really good 5 star item)

The settings you can adjust are these ones: Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Color Temperature (3 presets and a manual RGB), Skin Tone, Sharpness, Aspect Control (full, overscan), VividPixel (on screen sharpening), Dynamic Contrast

The problem is this:

1. There is No manual profile in which you can specify all of those settings to your tastes at once. You only have some predefined profiles; In some of them you can adjust some things in other ones you can adjust other settings.

2. The vividPixel technology is an on-screen sharpening tool which works great on high quality pictures and videos, However it works horrible for bad quality pictures and text (i.e pictures embedded on web pages that are usually low resolution)

The text distortion is the most noticeable effect of turning on VividPixel as the way the characters are formed is really susceptible to some sharpening creating artifacts, ghosts, double letters (subtle), pixelation, whenever either Sharpening or VividPixel are increased.

The problem as mentioned is that you can only adjust (or turn off for that matter) vividPixel when in standard and sRGB profiles exactly where sharpening cannot be adjusted, and vividPixel can be set in steps of 25 only.
