Ideal for speech recognition and VoIP, the TP100 Computer Headset combines three key technologies that work together to ensure optimal performance. First, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) heightens audio performance by converting the headset's microphone signal from analog into digital, thereby providing a signal that is completely compatible within the computer's digital environment. DSP removes the problem of voice echo within the VoIP application. Second, the microphone matters. A high quality headset is a critical component for successful speech recognition. The VXI Parrott TP100 computer headset contains a superior, voice band optimized noise-canceling microphone. Transmission of the voice is achieved at very high levels of audio fidelity and consistency. Noise canceling properties effectively suppress background sounds to transmit the voice with greater clarity for speech recognition. Third, the advantage of USB. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection overcomes the problems of hardware incompatibility and PC system sound interference by effectively bypassing the sound card.

The headset supports left or right side microphone placement. It's compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP and Mac OS 9.2 and higher. The unit is backed by a one-year warranty.

This is a great usb headset. I've tried them all out and this is by far the most comfortable and best sound. And there's currently a [...] on it to boot. I use it as a phone for Skype calling, not for music, so I only wanted one earpad. What would have made it a 5 star review is if they had mentioned in the literature or on the website that it's essential to download and install the firmware update. Once I did that it worked without flaw on both my Mac and PC. They also have a bluetooth version which I tried, but returned because It entailed too much fiddling on each call. But looking back, I'll bet that might have been fixed with the firmware update as well.

Wow, what a difference!

I am a Dragon Naturally Speaking user. I really like the product. However, whenever there is background noise, Dragon Naturally Speaking stops working. So, I bought the TP100 by VXIParrott.

Not only does Dragon Naturally Speaking now work even when there is background noise, but about 90% of the errors that used to occur when I used the old headset (the one that came with Dagon Naturally Speaking) have disappeared. It's wonderful!

I am a Windows Vista user. The setup for the headset was a no-brainer. I plugged it into my Sony Vaio laptop and about 30 seconds later my machine was ready to go.

Now, if someone would come up with a way that I can dictate to my computer in public...

Purchased the TP100 here. Needed updated drivers for Macintosh to make it work. Seller wouldn't help or take returns and simply referred me to the company for warranty help. The company is COMPLETELY unresponsive. Live chat doesn't work. The drivers they show as Macintosh (on the link) are for Windows only. Email and phone calls have gone unanswered (4 emails and 4 calls to date). Buy from someone else!!!
