More About the Author

KiKi Canniff is a tax consultant with a talent for making IRS rules easy to understand. She is the author of a series of financial organizers for individual taxpayers and self-employed people. KiKi also writes books about recreational attractions in the Pacific Northwest.

KiKi began writing books in 1981. For nearly two decades she produced a line of guidebooks detailing recreational attractions in America's Northwest corner. Many of those early titles were all-inclusive guidebooks, written to show locals where to find everything in a particular recreational category.

KiKi became known as the Camper's Guru in the 1980's, and with the publication of The Northwest Golfer in 1987 she also became a favorite with local golfers. These titles, along with Oregon Free, Washington Free and KiKi's other books highlighting this region's family attractions, were regional best sellers during the 80's and 90's.

Many of KiKi's regional books are currently being updated for new editions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved getting the inside scoop straight from the author!, April 20, 1999

This review is from: Great Vacations in Oregon & Washington; A Travel Writer's Favorite Vacation Getaways (Paperback)
This is a very different kind of travel book--and it happens to be one we enjoyed immensely on a week-long trip to eastern Oregon. Instead of a straight listing of sights to see, the author has selected her favorite areas and they come with plenty of recommended things to do and places to stay. It's rather like having a chance to sit down and ask a well-known travel writer to give the inside scoop on the very best locations. We hiked the high Wallowas and drove through Leslie Gulch, discovering fascinating places we never knew existed. We found this book to be inspiring and well-researched. The author has obviously spent time in these locations and this is a refreshing change from ordinary travel books that simply offer a list of attractions without help in putting together a vacation that is filled with a variety of great adventures.
