We are indebted to Sri Maruganar for his faithfulness in recording the comments and conversations of Sri Ramana Maharshi. We are also indebted to David Godman and his team of translators for their meticulous yet clear translation, as well as for the numerous references which authenticate every facet of this work.
This is not a book one would want to scan through lightly, but rather is for the serious student who is willing to take the time to read perhaps only a verse or two and then cogitate on it before proceeding forward. If one is patient, much is then revealed, and questions we did not yet even know we had are answered.
This is truly a generous work of the Heart, and we are privileged to have it at our disposal.

Ramana lovers will love this book. Many new teachings and interpretations of Ramana. The author David Godman did a wonderful job editing and arranging the content. In my opinion this book is much superior to the other Guru Vachaka Kovai books written by other authors. It's worth the extra cost.

I have read countless spiritual books, and if I could only have one book, this would be it. For me, there is no more endlessly subtle, powerful, mind-ending book than this one.

A beautifully packaged rendering of wisdom. Muruganar was an excellent poet and this translation is smooth and silky. Talks with Ramana was for the crowds, this Garland is what Ramana really thought.

I also highly recommend the version by Sadhu Om.

There is much talk here on Sat-Chit-Ananda. This is who we are. The commentary by Sadhu Om is an ongoing explanation of what Ramana Maharshi is saying so you get two enlightened voices in one book!

Here we have pure optimism. They say you and I are pure happiness but we've forgotten. Well I've forgotten anyhow!

I find little hope in the various schools of Buddhism with their fixation on nihilism or bigging up materialism because they claim to meet in the middle. There is little immortality in meeting science halfway. Science is also Sat-Chit-Ananda.

What Ramana Maharshi is saying is similar to what Jesus said in the gospel of Thomas.
