I have been using this product for more than a year now and it is still working like the first day. I have been using this size container to store coffee I grind weekly. So everyday for a year I have been re-vacuuming after I have my daily espresso. The seals have held up. Every now and then I have to wipe down the seal since the coffee grind sticks on the rubber and allows some of vacuum to escape. This is a great product!

A few months ago, I bought 3 each of the .65 liter Vacu Vin containers. I was reluctant because of some reviews of the larger sizes complained of bad seals. I've had no problems with the seals. I was away for 3 weeks, and the seals held perfectly, I could not pump out any more air after returning.Oct '11, UPDATE to my review. I have changed from 5 STARS to 4 STARS. One of the containers started to leak after 6 months. Fortunately, I had a spare Vacu Vin wine stopper, and valves are interchangeable. After swapping valves the leak stopped.

Although I was looking for the old, round canister design to match what I already had,I finally gave in & bought this one. It is a shame that the rubber stoppers are different from the old design & thus a new pump had to be purchased but I must say the new design w/ the "clicking" sound when all air has been pumped out is a great improvement. I really hate having to have extra tools in the kitchen-I am a big fan of standardization!!! But overall, I am very happy with this canister where I store freshly roasted coffee beans!

This looked like a great product -- I already owned plenty of vacuum corks and the little air pump device for wine bottles (which works so well) so I was familiar with the system and looking forward to this for coffee beans. However, the first time I put the lid on the container the corner of the top broke off. I bought two and haven't even used the second one yet. I'm guessing that they just used pretty cheap plastic for the lid or... maybe it was cracked in shipping and only broke when I went to use it. I haven't decided what to do with it yet... I probably will return it and go back to just buying fresh roasted coffee beans once a week (Whole Foods has now started making available fresh roasting in stores).

I bought this to keep my ground coffee beans fresh. As some background I make coffee a couple times/day which means opening and closing and pumping multiple times/day.Day 1: Super excited...I make my coffee and pump it. It probably took 2 minutes or so of embarrassing pumping motions to get a good seal. Day 2: Actually seemed harder, if possible! Day 3: Accepted stale coffee and I haven't pumped since.... As a note...I use the pump to seal my wine and its SUPER EASY and I love it for that purpose. I'm not sure if its easier with the wine because its liquid and I'm storing ground beans with lots of places to hide but with my wine bottles it takes maybe 5-7 pumps and 10-15 seconds...with the storage container, it is SIGNIFICANTLY more time consuming with lots of pumping. Call me crazy but I don't need two minutes of pumping to get only marginally better coffee :-/

I'm returning this product becuase I didn't realize that the required pump is "Sold Separately" for as much or more than the cost of this container. Why aren't they sold as a set? The pump needed here apparently is different from the one used in the Vacu Vin wine-storage products..... so I am disappointed.

Works well, once you figure out how to put the top on correctly: it is not the same for the four sides and you have to work by feel. Does the job. The instructions are poor, pictures only, little verbage.

I'm really delighted with this vacuum container. The body is strong plastic, it is tinted to protect from light, and the lid uses a solid tight-fitting rubber gasket. The vacuum stopper works perfectly with our Vacu Vin pump, with the clicking sound to indicate when sufficient pumping has been done to create the vacuum. Great product.
By the way, I've managed to also use an Oneida pump with this type stopper, but the extra effort is not worth it - you really need the Vacu Vin pump if you want this container. And, the .65 liter is 2.6 cups.

works great. I roast coffee beans to get the freshest coffee possible. These storage containers help extend the short freshness life of coffee beans.
