5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy your whites now!
There are few other viable ways of cooling a bottle down quickly that are this effortless. Slide the sleeve on (stick in freezer or not), wait, cork, and drink.

Besides this main feature, the chiller can serve two other purposes. First, after corking and pouring the first round of glasses, the chiller can serve in place of a more expensive metal bucket or crystal...

2.0 out of 5 stars wine chiller does not chill
I have used this wine chiller a couple of times. If the wine is already cool, it holds the temperature pretty well, but does not do a lot if the wine is warm.

There are few other viable ways of cooling a bottle down quickly that are this effortless. Slide the sleeve on (stick in freezer or not), wait, cork, and drink.

Besides this main feature, the chiller can serve two other purposes. First, after corking and pouring the first round of glasses, the chiller can serve in place of a more expensive metal bucket or crystal chiller. Second, the chiller is great for bring bottles of white wine to friends' homes that you want to share immediately. Many people start with whites and if you are bringing a room-temperature white, it's annoying having to wait for it to chill in the freezer. Those 15-30 minutes may see your bottle passed over and forgotten. But with the Rapid Ice chiller, you can arrive with a bottle that's ready to drink immediately, even if traveling to your friends' took a while.

I keep two of these in my freezer at all times! When I'm ready to chill down a bottle of wine for dinner, I slip the frozen sleeve around the bottle, pop it all into the freezer for 10 minutes, and presto! Perfectly chilled wine in no time. The Wine Chiller also works great to keep an open bottle chilled while sitting on the table. These also make great gifts for wine lovers! I also highly recommend the Vacu Vin Concerto wine saver system.

... After trying it out and being AMAZED with the results, I bought 2 more (full price). They are perfect for dining out on patio/decks, picnicing or when you need to chill wine in a hurry. They are especially helpful around the holidays, summertime and for dinner parties! They flatten out when not in use, so it doesn't take up much space in the freezer either.

I love the Rapid Ice Wine Coolers. I give them for token gifts and use them frequently myself. They are great for a spure of the moment glass of wine that needs chilling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Item But Not in Five Minutes........, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Vacu Vin Rapid Ice Wine Chiller, Chrome (Kitchen)
This is a great idea, and it really does help to chill your wine faster. But I have yet to have my wine chilled in five minutes. I didn't really think this was possible before I bought the product, though, so it's really not a big deal. It's a great thing to have - especially if you like to leave your wine out on the table.

You won't need your ice bucket any longer!!!

Slip the wine bottle into the chiller sleeve and worry no more. The bottle stays chilled and you no longer have to worry about the moisture ring from the ice bucket.

It lays flat in the freezer so you have plenty of room for your Ben and Jerry's.

I highly recommend it! In fact I'm going to pick up a second one - I prefer my red wine as well as my white chilled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does What Needs to be Done, August 16, 2007

Remember this:

Serving Temperature is one of the factors that affects the taste of wine and
is under your control. Tools that help you control serving temperatuer add to
your pleasure. Here are two ways to use this tool-

*You put it around a cold bottle to keep it that way. For instance, if you're carrying
white wine to a BYOB or a picnic, the sleeve will keep it at serving temperature.
It seems to last for about an hour and a half if it's wrapped with something insulating.

*You put it over a room-temperature bottle of red wine to cool it down to a proper
serving temp of around 60-65F.

At this low price, anyone who takes bottles of wine to friends or to restaurants should
have one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for People Who Don't Plan Ahead, November 9, 2005
These wine chillers are great for when you're already half way through dinner and think "Oh, but some wine would be nice with that." We're big fans of very cold white wine, and this has worked great for us.

One caveat-- it claims to be unbreakable, and it may be hard to break, but if you drop it on a hardwood floor while it's still frozen, it will break open. However, I think it's unlikely it would break under any circumstances other than dropping or being hit by something heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Usable, convenient, no splashes , and not too fancy, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Vacu Vin Rapid Ice Wine Chiller, Chrome (Kitchen)
One thing I don't like about usual ice bucket is that it makes the wine bottle wet and you have to have a dry cloth with you. This product is looking like a band that slips around the wine bottle. Some liquid is stuffed in the band that makes it cool during about 1 or 2 hours depending on the room temperature. The liquid does not go too solid and remail still kind of half fluid, so that even though you put it in the friz for couple of hours, it is still soft and not getting to stiff. That's good thing. if the band goes too stiff, then it should be hard to slip the bottle inside of it. It fits most of wine bottles but bubbly wines are oftentimes in the bigger bottle, so if you are thinking of champaign, then you need champaign version of this product. It is not too fancy. If you are doing real big party with someone that you want to impress, this is not.... well .... just does not look too pretty. For that you need silver real ice bucket and cristal cubic ices. But, if you are using it just for practical manner, as I do, like with you friends and family, it does do its job very well. Hope it helps.
